Hi. In some sources you might see /weit/ and in others you will find /wet/. I use Merriam-Webster Pronouncing Dictionary of American English. It shows /wet/. Neither phonetic transcription is exactly right or wrong. However, /e/ is not a full diphthong and often is not listed with the true diphthongs. This is why sources vary.
