My hammock is much lighter and more compact than a tent, 2 layer wp with bug screen, doesn't require ground cover or mat, and comes with an espresso bar. I don't like laying in the dirt with the critters at night. Other than that, I give him a 10. This is the best amateur video I can recall.

Thanks Tom, Not sure how I'm going to top this one, the ride was fun and the conditions were just right for the time of the year. As for Naden, I'm glad for him to take a lot of credit for making this video worth viewing. The outdoors lifestyle has become second nature to him.

During filming inside of the Bunker you Focused on a pipe that you questioned about it being a Urinal. It may have been a Hand Granade Disposal port. I've seen things in the past that mentioned that accessory in a WW2 structure.

Thanks for the info. I concluded that they must have been a disposal chute for empty ammunition cartridge cases but your hand grenade disposal theory is plausible. Thanks for watching!

I was going to say the same thing but searched the comments first to see if anyone else brought it up. It's called a grenade sump. When I was in the Marines we always included one when we dug out a foxhole. In the case of a foxhole, it was just a deep hole but in a bunker the way they did it here makes total sense. You could probably also use it to grenade someone on the outside of the bunker if you were getting assaulted.

Great video I think that fat bike is brilliant it goes anywhere. Great site to camp out with so much history around you. Naden is so enjoying it in those woods and well behaved. Keep up the great work.

Since it's my first E-Bike I don't have anything to compare it to, but a lot of the features really suit my style of riding and the components are holding up really well after a lot of use. As for Naden, I can't imagine a solo camp without him now. For some folk, taking a dog along on trips like this is a hindrance but he has become an essential part of my outdoor experience.

You should get yourself either a folding solar charger or a solar electric generator so you can charge your bike as you camp. I have a 72v solar charging system on the way to pair with a stealth bomber with a 72v 60ah battery. Ride for a day then camp for a day then ride again.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! I think that rope might have just been Naden's leash which I use the secure him to the trailer so no harm done.

I have been looking at the Fat Tire Kit and think not only would it match my bike aesthetically but would deal with the bumps and vibrations a lot better than the standard tyres. Unfortunately the kit is not so easy to get hold of over here in Europe but I'm always keeping an eye out.

Nice... can you tell us more about the trailer ! I thought one wheel trailer is more stable specially off road? Good luck
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK 2 жыл бұрын
Single wheel trailers tend to be narrower. Since I bought the trailer solely to accommodate my dog, I needed a larger area. Two wheels are better for heavier loads, but the trade off is a loss of stability on the longitudinal axis. My Burley Flatbed Trailer is very stable off the trail when carrying a load and has a solid construction.

Question is: Where and how you charge your ebike?
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK 2 жыл бұрын
My bike has an obtainable range of 45km and in most cases I don't even need to charge my battery on camping trips. If I'm touring and want to go beyond my allotted range, I'll either bring an identical battery or plan to charge on route at a dedicated campsite with mains charging. A full charge takes around 8 hours so an overnighter is required.
@black_eagle
@black_eagle 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheNorthOutdoorsUK 45 km is quite low. I get more than double that on my Juiced Bike RipCurrent-S. Sounds like you need something more powerful if you want to really get out and explore. Good video btw.
@richardhobson5995
@richardhobson5995 2 жыл бұрын
What do you do about charging the bike?
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK
@TheNorthOutdoorsUK 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard! I usually ride within the range of my battery but on extended journeys I take an additional battery with me. If I feel the need to recharge my battery for any reason, I would have an overnighter at a campsite or guesthouse nearby for mains charging. A full charge of my batteries takes approximately 8 hours. I explain my battery management in the Ebike Wild Camping | The Big River video. Hope this answers your question and thanks for watching!

Very nice adventure. I do similar exploration here in western Washington state, USA. We have some interesting old bunkers and forts in remote areas and I sometimes take my fat tire ebike. Here's a recent video I did: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opfbk6iOaal0bck If you're ever in my area I'd be happy to show you around. Btw, I'm wondering where you got the info about those bunkers? Anyway, good work and I look forward to more.

Just managed to get round to watching the video you sent a link to. I subscribed, great content! The fact that these places are so overgrown and seem lost to nature really makes them special. It's a strange feeling stepping in to am almost pitch black bunker for the first time not knowing what to expect. In my experience I was fortunate not to have lost my footing and fell in to the cellar or disturbed any rough sleepers but despite the apparent risks it made great footage. I'd like to do something similar in the future, so I'll keep you in mind if I do anything stateside. As for information on the bunkers; I found a really in depth slovak website which I translated and used for source material. Since the build up to the second world war in Europe is well documented, I'd say the website's inormation seems credible. Thanks for watching!
