Marc when you took out the scissors my first thought was "Oh-oh, there's no turning back now!". Thanks for the video - looks like a great system.

I was so happy 😄. I never look back. It was fun cutting the straps, one take. Thanks for the comment and watching the show

I got the base plate from Amazon too independently after comparing a few of the systems available - and then it turned out it was the exact same one that Fuell uses, although they say it‘s a „specifically designed“ one, I don‘t see the difference - fits my Flluid-1 perfectly!

Great😃. Got to love Amazon, they have everything…. Just got extra bike post so I can switch seats easily:)

@@The_Kimballism_Channel Now there‘s an idea… I need to be careful not to go over my budget, but there‘s so many little (or not so little) useful things you can buy for your eBike. Got myself a little bluetooth speaker, a special short USB charging cable, a phone holder & a bag (including the MIK plate) already this month. 😇
@JoergMcFly2 жыл бұрын
Oh, and another funny coincidence - my bag‘s a RockBros too, had never heard of them before…
@Yourtaer Жыл бұрын
Yup... and some bikes (or separate sold racks) come with MIK "baseplate" integrated. Saves som bulk and weight. Some Riese & Müller e-bikes have them (Charger has it but Multicharger doesn't,...). Bontrager (=>Trek) backracks have the system integrated...

Thanks good to know😁 thanks for watching and your comment.

I just 'discovered' them this week, just ordered the parts, yet to assemble them...

If I can put it together any can🥴. I do love the ease of the system, really nice to have:)

Nice! I'm Curious, do you have to cut holes in your bag for the adapter to fit?
@The_Kimballism_Channel2 жыл бұрын
Yes I used a small drill and made 4 holes. You can find bags with the adapter plate already installed as well.

These adaters are good, I have an Atran / Velo system in the front and a MIK in the back.

I love them as well easy to get bags on and off😁

The plates I got from Canadian suppliers do not come with the screws or washers. What size are the ones that came with your unit? Maybe I can get some stainless steel ones to use as replacements...
@The_Kimballism_Channel2 жыл бұрын
In the US we don’t have to Register an e-bike. So I never thought about minting a plate on the bike. In Canada you need a license? If I had to I just go to an hardware store and show a picture of the bike and rough measurements of the size of the area I need to place the plate in:)

Marc are you riding the rail trail at Cape Cod? I also have used the MIK system as well. Thanks.

No mostly around Manchester NH, New Boston and Goffstown. When the weather warms up I plan to take the bike to some new trails. Glad you like the MIK:)

Are still able to use pannier bags after installing the MIK system?
@The_Kimballism_Channel Жыл бұрын

I wouldn't use just this with a heavily loaded bag. Four hard points on a soft bottom bag give me little confidence. I would still use bungees or at least the velcro straps.
@The_Kimballism_Channel2 жыл бұрын
I agree never a bad idea to be on the safe side and reinforce with bungees. Especially if you have a lot of heavy stuff in the bag.
@thundergun202 жыл бұрын
I really like the approach used in this video by tauntyouasecondtime. He reinforces the bottom of his bag with a sheet of plastic kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYO6cmuMbsuFsLs

😢 the whole point is mounting the system to the bag. You just said it was easy. How on earth do you line up the holes to the bag to match the mount holes? you can’t use a marker.
@The_Kimballism_Channel Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly I put the screws in and lined up the plate on the bottom and poke holes using a nail and then drilled the holes from inside. Thanks for your question and hope this helps😎

System looks a little sketchy to me. Especially with a full bag. Looked like you were testing it with an empty bag.
@The_Kimballism_Channel2 жыл бұрын
Nope I did have a full bag and use the system all the time… need more stuff and did buy a larger saddle bag to fit my gear for shooting the show… I am not sponsored by MIK. I really spend my own money and do like it a lot😁 but if course it my opinion… thanks for your feedback and watching the show:)
