Cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist Iddo Bar-Shai play Bloch’s “prayer” at the Berlin Philharmonic hall in a fundraising concert “Together for Humanity”.
On 20 December, the Berliner Philharmoniker and their guests made a benefit concert fundraising for Israeli and Palestinian peace organizations: “Woman Wage Peace” and “Women of the Sun” and also for the “Forum of the families of the Abducted and Missing Persons”. Renowned musicians from all over the world came together under the banner “Together for Humanity”, including chief conductor Kirill Petrenko, pianist Martha Argerich, baritone Thomas Hampson, cellist Steven Isserlis, soprano Christiane Karg, violinists Christian Tetzlaff and Lisa Batiashvili and actress Martina Gedeck amongst many others. The program also included well known Israeli and Palestinian artists such as singers Noa and Mira Awad and Oud player Taiseer Elias.
