Larry, this video showed exactly what I needed for my Rott that Has been conditioned well for the e-collar however at times ignores various commands. Repeating with no results. An hour ago I worked her until she ignored me. Then I didn't repeat, instead I increased the collar to 30 from 8 and she immediately responded as asked. Thank you, I was beginning to think I stayed in the conditioning phase too long.

I finally have hope - thanks to your videos as the 'appetizer' to using the e collar I bought but am waiting to use until I've trained myself (thru you!). seriously - 3 yrs in to the 8 year old un-walkable maniac I adopted …. after 'over googling' everything and feeling hopeless you've put a light in the tunnel!!! so appreciative. (when he's not nuts, he great) thanks so much

Thank you so much for this video. I have these EXACT same issues with both of my 7mo CCs!! Both of them have similar personalities to what you described as well. My anxious girl usually starts if off, my more submissive boy then follows. Together 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️.... I decided no more walks together at this point. I actually have the mini educator that I received from a trainer about a month ago. But I think your video broke things down even more or refreshed things for me. I stopped using the ecollars for about 2 days, but I am going to watch more of you videos and get back to it now. Again thank you so much!

Thank you so much for all your amazing videos. I have a very reactive god who is aggressive to most dogs on walks. Walks are very stressful and so are cafes. I have been watching your videos over the past few days to educate myself bout e collars as I knew nothing about them. Your videos are excellent. You are very professional. I am going to watch them every chance I get I really want to help my dog. Its my fault he has this problem. He was perfect until I left him in a kenel for two weeks when he was young. Not sure what happened to him there but he has never been the same since. I feel I have a good understanding of how the e collar works. I just bought one online today. I cant wait till it arrives. I have learnt so much from you. Thanks so much

I am at my wits end. My German Shepherd was attacked by a dachshund about a year ago..I had Flynn on a leash but the dachshund was not. My dog was two years old. I tried my best to hold on highways too scared and strong. My dog and I are both scared to take walks. I took Flynn to dog obedience just to help him leftover his anxiety. I read books, nothing seemed to work. I remember watching your videos on KZbin. I purchased the e collar and book. But I felt I wasn't using it correctly. My husband forgets to secure the door when he goes out with our other dog. Flynn got out and eNjoy down the street. Our neighbors let their small dog out. This is one dog that charged us one day. Flynn was on leash. He was so scared. Anyway, Flynn chassis little dog and the dog was crying out. Flynn did not hurt him. This happened two days in a row. Now our neighbor has threatened to o do harm to my dog. I am so scared. I have been working with Flynn not to charge the door. We go on walks and when Flynn sees another dog he gets fixated on the dog. He is anxious and growls. This video will help. I hope. Flynn used to be such an easygoing dog. He was friendly with other dogs.

Larry, I have 2 GSDs. One is 9yrs old the other is 1 1/2yrs. The young just one flipped a switch, and decided he hated strange. He's fine with my older Shephard. He's fine with my neighbors pitt-lab mix. And he's good with my daughter's great Danes. Out on a walk, if we get within 40 yds of another dog, he goes nuts. He wants to fight and hurt the other dog. I live near Indiana, Pa. Here's my question. Do you know of any trainers in my area that train like you. The trainers in my area are either all positive trainers or board and train. Both of my dogs are pretty trained with basic commands and e-collar. Thanks for any help.

Thank you for all the vids (&book!:) This was so helpful, we’ve been doing the ecollar conditioning phase for about a week, she knows it and is getting bored, so we’re transitioning to intermittent, still a lot of treats, but adding low level distractions like doing the exercises on our every day walk, yet today I was beaten by bird poop, I thought I had increased her 8working level enough to a 10, but had to physically pull her by leash to me, then after a sit, I released her to sniff the same area, after a bit, I tried recall again on a 14, still zero reaction, hit the boost, still nothing, she was so zeroed in on sniffing, so again just pulled her back to me.... now realize from your vid that I just didn’t have it set high enough for even minimal distractions 😂, good to know since she goes nuts when she sees other dogs, we’ve just been walking really early to avoid that as much as possible, these tips will be more tools to help us get there, so again THANK YOU!!

New to an e collar here, my dog is very dog reactive on leash with me, she goes to doggy daycare she’s fine. Should I tap her collar right at the time she notices another dog? “Sit” then reward? Little dogs are the worst they bark and get really worked up which gets my dog going.
@SixString_J53 жыл бұрын
Question. After that day, do you advise the owner to slowly ratchet down the level on the walks or do they stay at that level because that's what worked?

Love this video and all the damn info you put out on the E-Collar! I’m a dog handler and do a side business of dog training and will be receiving the Mini Educator tomorrow in the mail. I am working with a Bull Terrier right now that has big issues with dog aggression and could care less about being corrected on prong. His drive is one of the highest I’ve seen. Fingers crossed this E-Collar does the trick. Gonna start slow and do exactly what this video talks about. Thanks a ton brother and keep up the great work!

Question: do the dogs eventually get used to the e-collar and it loses it's effectiveness?
@dt6561 Жыл бұрын
I'm a bit uncertain with the use of an E-Collar with regards to training etc. My dog (9 month old working line GSD) is trained on sit, stay, drop (lie down), come, spin and release. While he is trained on it he can be lazy with his response and I'll have to enforce the command to ensure he follows it (eg if I tell him to sit and he decides to wander off I'll get him back and if need put slight pressure on his back and repeat the command or if won't come I'll grab him and take him to the position where I was standing when I gave the command). With using the E-Collar to ensure compliance to the command, does that mean the dog essentially only gets conditioned to respond if he feels the E-Collar?

I have a couple of questions and perhaps another video can explain it. At this levels, is the behavior only being suppressed or is it really fixing the root of the problem. I’m not against the tool I just wanna use mine correctly. I haven’t used mine that high and have been struggling a bit during reactivity. What happens after the dog stops acting up because it may be scared of it. Is the dog just shutting down or is it correcting the behavior to fix the root problem?

Which e collar do you use- mine will go after a dog (so can’t take her to dog park anymore) and doesn’t feel high settings when she is attacking. She has no leash aggression and can pass insane dogs behind fences calmly.

I took notes on this to use for training my rescue dog. He has issues exactly like the reactive cane Corso and I'm praying I can get him to respond correctly. I'm also hoping I can get by with just the vibration and not the shock setting, but I'll have to wait and see I guess.
@rickybobby98406 жыл бұрын
It’s not a shock just an fyi

The vibrate believe it or not is actually a lot harsher than the stim on quite high levels.

I would LOVE to "SEE" you working with the dogs vs seeing you in your car talking "about" dogs. I have clicked on a few of your videos looking for another perspective in training and sadly don't see any demo of the title of the ones I am most interested in. I do see some videos where you are with dogs but not with aggression issues. I say this because many videos on here have people sitting in front of a camera talking about "how to train a dog" honestly anyone can do tha, right or wrong in the advice being given... But to see what you are saying and to see the result in what you are saying works would really be helpful. Just throwing my 2 cents in... Thanks

Hi I have a 5 month cane corso and am having the same problems. Can you tell me what type of ecollar you’re using? My dogs litter mate is at my home everyday and trying to socialize them..they’re fine for a while but then fight. My dog is bigger 65lbs atleast now and is more aggressive. Thank you for this video. My pit bull is a sweet dog and maybe a little spoiled. On a leash he is reactive to some dogs and I can control him on the leash. I usually put distance between us and other dogs when walking, especially with the ones he doesn’t like. Today I was walking him on my lunch break. I was wearing a dress and heels, which I never do. We saw a golden retriever walked by an elderly woman. The golden retriever was minding its own business. I walked my dog away on the grass. My dog lunges at him and pulls me down. And gives the other dog a couple warning bites. I pulled my dog away. Thank goodness the lady and her dog were ok. I sure was embarrassed and upset. I’m going to buy an e collar and follow your instructions. Hope it helps us.

I'm so glad I watched this video! I followed other softy dog trainers with e-collar handling. Some even say start with 5 and saying try first with viberation! I tried with 10 on my over 100 Lb dog trying to attack my Jack Russel. He didn't feel a thing because he was angry concentrating on just attack, adrenaline was very high, he bit my JR again! 10 was nothing! I can't stand those hypocritical trainers who want to look good to watchers. I raised level to 30 but I was too scared to try again making him being with JR. They got along well and were even sleeping together for over a year but one day about 1 month ago, they suddenly went crazy. I'll follow your level 50 and see how he will do with JR. Thank you!

Could you teach A dog not to be aggressive without the E collar?! I'm not against it or anything but I think of an e collar as a cheat-cheat. Someone please respond to help me understand the e collar. I've watched all your videos. Don't understand
@servicedogonabudget1804 жыл бұрын
If you ask a dog to walk on a leash so they don't run away then is it a cheat to get the dog to not run away or do something? An e-collar is an "invisible" leash.
