That is just incorrect. Apple’s share of the market is just too small to bother. Intel’s “e” cores were and are the answer to AMD’s core count because Intel couldn’t possibly have all “p” cores with their present architecture. Intel’s power draw is insane and their heat problems a real drawback to having more “p” cores. Their “e” cores shouldn’t even be added to the total core count. That’s what irks me the most. Running a 1000+ watt power supply is a must with an Intel based rig if paired with anything above a 3060. So lets not BS. Intel current design is flawed and will not last much longer. It has reached the end. AMD’s is a new architecture that has room to grow……..and will because they have surpassed Intel in innovation. Intel sat on its hands for way too long and now play catch-up………..and dare I say……..looks good on ‘em.

@@jaredangell8472 There are still a large number of threads from the OS, drivers, background tasks, etc. which don't require massive cores. If e-cores didn't exact, you'd need to schedule a p-core to deal with everything from mouse and printer drivers to background memory management or IO or a frame tracker app.

One could argue yes and no. Because both processors run on different architectures. Though in my opinion P and E cores seems like a better approach since you only activate each core when the need arises making it more efficient. Unless you want to run on full throttle all the time then Ryzen is the way to go

Making one core type cpus better for temps. Or having 10 p cores and 6 e cores would be more balanced since p cores take on more

i bought a laptop which has core i5 and 12 cores(8 e cores and 4 p cores) but the clock speed is 1.7Ghz for rupees 58K . is it a good purchase . BTW it was a very good video explanation

1.7 clock speed is good for light work loads but I would also like to know what is the boost clock speed. If it’s somewhere in between 3 and 4 the its great. Though with that high number of efficiency cores i guess its more of a notebook and not necessarily a high performance laptop. So is it a good purchase that depends on what you want to do with the laptop. If its mostly work, browsing and light tasks then its a good purchase and if was for something like gaming triple A type games then its not.

This modern processors are complete $hyt! My ancient I3's and I5's are 12 years old and still working greatly. But my new I5 and I7 stuck with simple tasks, not to mention the overheating, which by the way, the stock fan that comes with with them are simple garbage. And now you have to buy an "OK processor", and you still need to buy a real cooling system on the side. NVIDIA seems to go at the same direction.

i purchased blindly 8 cores deppending upon the Cores but they all are *E - Cores Working fine but Gaming not supported as it has Intel UHD only. so i have to rely on MY PC i5 for Gaming . and on laptop only for study.😊😊😊😊

So this is how Intel save money, mix celeron and high end cores together. This seems like a rip off, pay premium prices for only half the cores. The only reason they call them (E)ffcientcy cord is because they are from laptops. Why would I want to have efficiency cores in a desktop? It's not battery powered?

I guess its a ploy to reduce carbon emissions 😅😅. in such a scenario where your desktop is idle it reverts to efficiency cores and saves power consumption that way instead of going full throttle all the time.

Would prefer having it on my pc too anyway as i prefer performance per watt more than traditional method of more performance higher watts. Thats why i love arm a lot and wish x86 could follow it or just die already x86 if they cant be as efficient as arm..... they are the no 1 problem on laptop battery and my electricity bill.

Basically, the inferior core(e) is for power efficiency. For laptop or even cellphone. And it is why 13900 is cheaper than expected. only 8 cores with 16 inferior cores. Intel 14 gen will increase the number of superior core(p) to 16 to show the difference between 13 and 14. Intel and AMD just do not see any progress in CPU technology from 2000. Intel 13 gen intentionally sticks with 8 core to buy some time for meteor 16 core. And Intel will increase meteor lake price to 1000 dollars for sure. Basically, games from 2010 to 2023 are all the same except massive object to consume CPU and GPU. From unreal tournament to battleground players unknown. We need heroes. Not copy cats.
