The approach engaged in the distribution of the gift was wrong even though the organisers meant well for the children. In a poverty-ridden society like Nigeria, the best approach would have been to issue tickets through schools or religious bodies and make arrangements for where e.g ticket 1 to 250 will collect and tickets 251 to 500 will get their own. As you issue ticket, enter their names in register. Even with this, adequate security must be provided. The sad incident was as a result of Nigerian factors like poverty, inpatient.disorderliness etc. Even if you do things like this through religious bodies, it may not get to the people it was meant for. Anyway, may God comfort the families of the victims of this unfortunate incident. We can learn one or two things from the incident to guide us in future. God will help eradicate poverty in our society.
