Y'all sure do get down with the music, Grieg would be right proud! :) Growing up in Los Angeles, at a time when education was truly into the '3 R;s', the Los Angeles Philharmonic would feature concerts for public school children, and "Peer Gynt, Suite 1" was on the bill. This was the perfect introduction to Classical Music for children and primarily for the bassoons! At least, I was fascinated enough to take up the oboe, but much later in high school. I wonder if this liberal arts principle is continued by our US school system, to contract a philharmonic orchestra to introduce the best in music to our children?
