I remember when they first came out, you could buy just about any ELF item for about $3.00. Exactly. I have been using elf cosmetics and brushes for a little over 10 years. I am all about the very affordable prices. One of the first things I bought was a brush set. 10 brushes for $10. The brushes have held up great. The set is now $12, but hey, inflation. The eye shadows are very pigmented and not the least bit chalky. I just happened across the brand at Target 10 years ago. elf doesn't do a ton of advertising so when you find their products, you feel like you found some secret treasure.
