Something I absolutely love about the emmis, especially as an engineer, is the ways they move. They often arnt moving like humans would, they move very efficiently and robotically which not only adds to their creepiness but makes them seem much more realistic.

Yeah! If you notice closely, you can see the animators put in the effort of making individual moving parts to signify how the robot works. Like how the face plates of the E.M.M.I. open up to make room for the needle-like extractors to shoot open and stab into Samus. It’s awesome!

Something I noticed is that the intervals between the emmi catching you and going for the grab varies, so when you have to parry is purely reactionary.

Expenses probably, and these technically aren’t developed by the Federation but by Exelion Star Corporation per the blueprints we see during the opening of the game. It may be that they have a patent on that material that keeps them from having it be disclosed to the public or even the Federation, and all the Federation can do is employ them to make the research robots to be sent out on these missions.

Lmao that was fun to watch i always wondered how some people handle the absolute dread of the game at times with these almost impossible to kill bots every time i think im lost while the Emmi is chasing me i pause the game and look for an exit route xD not to mention im already used to thinking while panicking due to experiencing panic attacks which kinda were helpful funny enough, as this is the first video i came across from this particular channel i am not sure just how experienced you are at playing 2D Metroid games but you certainly did much better at boucing off those walls during your first time compared to my first playthough to escape those Emmi when they gotcha cornered though i guess i was luckier in actually countering them when i got caught

First emmi: exist Masae: *HOW DARE YOU WALK UP TO ME?!*

Here's a list of what to look out for on each EMMI. Spoilers below. Gray/Silver (?): Tutorial. Free. White: Now has a faceplate that needs to be melted and can climb on walls. Every EMMI from this point on has these traits. Green: Can go through tight spaces. Every EMMI from this point on can do this. Yellow: Can achieve super fast speeds in short bursts Blue/Cyan: Line of sight can freeze you. Due to Metroid DNA and not having the Gravity Suit yet, it does damage over time while you are frozen. Purple/Indigo: I have to rant here because this thing was the bane of my existence. 1) Can see through walls 2) Can fire stun shots that also go through walls 3) Hearing has infinite range, so it will never truly leave you alone 4) Unlike other EMMIs, who choose to patrol the entire EMMI zone, this one will not leave the room you are in until you do, even if you wait. 5) EMMI zone is mostly water. You are forced to go through this at least a few times before getting the Gravity Suit. If it was only one of these factors, it wouldn't be too bad. *The problem is all of them coming together.* Orange/Red: Destroyed in a cutscene. More free than the tutorial.
