E Max Aurora Is Broken After The Changes...

Okay real question Nick: I've been loving the E Max on Aurora but I am very unsure about building her. I have way more success with the bursty ludens into Shadowflame stuff but everyone and their mum is building the Malignance + liandrys apparently. Is it a game to game basis decision or do i just say fuck it and stay with what works for me?

no its literally malignance every time it's her best item there's no question. Everything else is case by case for sure but you never go anything except malignance first item on aurora. Her ult is her strongest ability and being able to use it so often nets you so many kills along with magic resist shred making it easier to get kills, plus it's cheaper than Ludens and has more ability haste which aurora wants. Ludens is for champs like zoe or xerath that want to make use of their high ap ratios and burst, which aurora doesn't excel at. After a certain point auroras burst isn't good and she is at an awkward range to burst. Not melee like fizz but not as long range as syndra or orianna. She stops being able to kill on her own which is why ult cd is so valuable because it's rly op in teamfights which is what aurora does well. It's all about leaning into the champs strengths and what synergizes with her kit which malignance does well providing her really good aoe damage and pick potential on a low cd plus more value in teamfights.

@@Defnotdiablo No, unfortunately Malignance isn't as good as it used to be. Stats says Luden's is best for Aurora as first item.

In proplay people are gonna weave more autos between combos because they're cleaner on the champ, so they build malignance liandry's for max aoe dmg in teamfights, and to help backline in chipping that beefy frontline, especially since crit carries mostly suck at dealing with hp stacking. However, in soloqueue it's every man for himself so the early power of the burst build is more reliable for solo carry potential. It's a difference of viewpoints on how to approach playing a control mage. If you prefer being selfish with your items while playing more for early game (which will be more rewarded next season btw with feats of strength and nerfing tp and homeguards on death as well as ambatukam rewarding early aggression), then stick with the burst build. But, if you want to be a zone controller for your team and take a CC + utility role for your backline, then stay with the malignance liandry's builds. Hope this clears it up.

Does quantum know landing q before e does more dmg than e before q? just doing it to slow and secure q?

It doesn't change the dmg since either way he's recasting after E. Aurora's second Q or the recast is what deals dmg based on missing health the first one does the same if you land it before or after E, as long as he doesn't early recast Q it deals the same damage.

@malmro2216 for match ups that are hard to trade against when walking up aka bad match ups. E max allows easier dmg without interaction while also building comet.
