I’ve got both the Nano2 and the EEW 6.1 by Dreaming Robots and I couldn’t be happier with them. More expensive e-spinners are above my budget. Parts are easy to get, customer service is stellar. I can’t use a treadle wheel due to nerve damage to one of my legs. E-spinners are a boon for anyone with leg issues (or with very limited space) and who feel spindles don’t quite satisfy their hunger for spinning.

I have been an EEW fan since the EEW mini and I can honestly say I’ve had no problems. I now spin with the EEW 6 and love it. If I needed to buy a new e-spinner again it will be an EEW spinner again.

I love my Ashford E Spinner 3. Glad to learn that they were the ones to come up with the e-spinner concept in the first place. I really enjoy your channel; Keep up the great work!

I have the Ashford e-sipnner 3, which is one of their two current e-spinners, it comes with three 8oz bobbins and a lazy Kate, there is also a larger model for spinning art yarns. I love it, especially for plying, it is a sturdy wheel and it can be run with a battery pack.

Hansen mini spinner pro owner, I owed a couple of other big name spinners(firefly by Spinolution and the Ashford) and sold them for my Hansen and I will never part with it, it’s in a class of its own.

I got an almost never used Hansen with the Woolee Winder of FB marketplace for a fraction of the cost. I love it.

Thank you for the wonderful comparison. I have been using the Nano2 for some time and love it. In fact your video on spinning cotton on the Nano2 was quite helpful. I've spun cotton on charkhas so the small bobbin doesn't bother me. I use it for both cotton and wool.

Thanks, great comparison. I have a Hansen and a Daedalus Sparrow. Absolutely adore both. I’m glad you commented on the Daedalus accessories. I have found them to be problematic, though the little Sparrow had performed flawlessly for about 3 years. I had to replace the battery, speed controller and power cord, and had no choice but to buy again from them. I feel like their wheels are extremely well engineered and the support has been excellent. The Hansen is just perfection in every way. I did have an issue with mine after about 4 years and they replaced the part without question.

Wow, I never thought there would be an electric SWSO! I'm so grateful for my EEW6 - I started with an Ashford Traditional and could only figure out plying, but it was so physically intensive. Electric wheels make spinning so much easier!

I have had an Ashford e-spinner for 5 or so years, wouldn't be without it as I'm unable to use my treadle wheels for any length of time these days. I bought a nano earlier this year for fun, its light, portable and I generally spin on it in coffee shops etc for relaxation. ( the ashford is more of a production wheel for me)

I had a Hansen for a while...sold it during the divorce. I loved it! Gorgeous spinner. I tried the Daedalus and that one is very nice. Ultimately I prefer my antique wheels tho...there is just something very appealing to me about spinning on a wheel that has been in use for a few hundred years. Each spinner has their own personality, my advice would be try them out first and find one that fits you.

Great rundown! Without my e-spinner (I have the Ashford), I could not be a spinner. I have a leg injury and found the constant treadling aggravated my leg. I have done a “number 8 wire” (as we call it here in NZ) modification which enables me to use both the large OR small bobbins. I also put the foot control switch next to the machine and use my hand instead of my foot.

Thank you. Brilliant way to be able to continue to spin! I, too, keep my EEW6 foot pedal next to the wheel rather than on the floor (it just feels easier!)

I've seen a video of a woman making an e-spinner, from memory, she made it during the pandemic. If I remember correctly, she did order the flyer from Ashford but much of the rest of it was bits and pieces she already had or quite cheap components. Depending upon how handy you are, that might be a good option, especially as you can design the e-spinner to meet your needs.

Thanks for this video! I have my beloved Ashford Traveller, but interested an e spinner. Im thinking Electric Eel 6.1, but always good to know options.
