See also Matthew 10:8 Make sure you've forgiven all Matthew 6:14,15 and Matrhew 8:35 from your heart all those you know and also forgive those others you aren't aware need forgiven. Most all of us are fallible. Most of us do not have CONFIDENCE that we are worthy of God's promises. Considering that - we have a hard time to have faith that God's word applies to ourselves. Most of us are not very lovable, but God loves us anyway, in spite of our faults. That's what I am overcoming. When I keep that front and center and know that God's word is in fact true, God cannot lie. I can grow in confidence HIS word applies to me.

That part about "hope" being an enemy of faith short circuited my brain, until the Holy Spirit clarified that of the three: Faith, Hope, and Charity(Agape), a part of who we are belongs to each, but they don't share those parts of who we are between them. We are already settled in those three things, and are led by Him in each.

Hmmm, mental assent vs belief. How many times have I been told of this in other words and never saw it. We are told we have the mind of Christ but we have another mind as well, one trained in the senses and another in faith. The sense training cannot comprehend faith and thus the mental struggle. The entire approach to life and consequences or fruits of it are evident. I set life and death before you today, choose life could be said that I set faith and sense before you, choose faith. Fascinating.
