Hello. I really enjoyed your video👍👍👍 I'm not criticizing you - I really loved watching your video. What I want to say is that we have generally been tricked into believing a lot of things about electric vehicles that are demonstrably not true. The advertising for these vehicles only highlights the cost of driving them. They talk about how cheap it is to charge the batteries at home - yes, that's true - but, what they don't tell you - is the cost the day you have to replace the battery. With e-bikes/mopeds - don't be surprised if the price tag ends up being 1000 quid. The cost of the batteries must be included in the calculation of the mileage cost, otherwise it will just be happy numbers. But as I said, this applies to ALL electric vehicles...

I do agree. We are only getting the nice figures. The figures that make it appear cheap. My main issue with these is and always will be range.

I have owned my E-Zi for just over a year now , not had any issues apart from range , which I knew was low before buying , but as a town run about it is fine if you don't mind cars up yer backside all the time lol , just waiting on the spare batteries coming back into stock at motogb , they say should be back in stock about 3 weeks , I want the second as I did leave myself short one day when I went out of town on a longer trip , easy to strap a second down on the flat floor , shame it does take ages to recharge be nice if version 2 was fast charge able to use one of the electric car charge stations then range would not be a problem .

I have one. Great for short commutes. Great acceleration. Handles well. Obviously the range is a problem. As to speed: I'd class this as a suped up electric bicycle than a motorcycle. It doesn't feel slow for the short journies it's designed for. It's great fun to ride. Much easier to park and stow in the shed.

When they first came out I was really close to buying one myself. I was working close to home and it would have been perfect. I don’t have a short commute anymore so I can’t really justify having one to use once a year when we go on holiday. Maybe one day.

I should imagine that it can climb hills as well as any 50cc petrol bike can.

​@@johnweller9891 1000 watts will climb hills albeit quite slowly. I've got a bike I built myself with 1500w and that struggles up a 20% grade lol.

This is to save money? So how much is the insurance for a mature rider…bearing in mind you’ll still want to also keep and insure your car for special purposes and bad weather. This is why I reluctantly had to give up my little Tomos moped years ago…the insurance was over half that of my car….ridiculous!

I have the 30km/h (20mph) version, bought it last December... Love that bike! Less than half a £ for a "full tank" of around 45km/30miles. Insurance is around 100/150£ per year, and I can't imagine a mechanical problem I can't fix myself, so no shop bills. And it's a proper moped (electro-ped?)! Comfortable, rugged, and way faster off the lights than pushbikes or even petrol mopeds. And it's sooo quiet!

can you swap the battery if it runs out? if so where do you buy a new battery from?

@@mindbodysport5293 It has a detachable battery under the seat (the lock is a little fiddly to get at, but not bad), and the whole thing (around 20X20X20cm/8X8X8 inches and 5 kilos/11lbs) lifts out no problem. I charge mine up in the apartment. Replacement batteries are sold by the dealer, but are pretty expensive. I haven't looked into whether there is another way to get a cheaper unit, but there might very well be :)

Does anybody know if there are third party suppliers of replacement batteries? The ones the supplier sells are only getting more expensive, and I feel like with the development in battery technology, a "modern" battery would be a performance upgrade! Alternatively, has anybody ripped one open and replaced the cells? I'd love to know :)

Does the Keeway EZi mini suffer from recurring battery issues i.e a faulty battery that needs replacing a number of times? and is there a risk that this Electric Moped will set alight or catch on fire like previous Electric bikes/Electric scooters/Electric mopeds have done in the past?

A valid question. The honest answer is I’ve not heard about any battery issues, I know a few people that have owned them for a few years with no issues. Regarding fires I’ve not heard of any of these randomly setting fire.

They are made by keeway. If you can find a keeway dealer they should be able to get one.

How is this actually a cheaper option? £1000 + Price of electricity in the UK is extortionate. A petrol 125 around the same price is getting roughly 300 miles out of £20.

Home charging in the uk especially non peak times is not to bad. It’s only public charging which is ridiculous.

No I don’t work there. They let me test / review their bikes. Normally you have to arrange a test ride first. If you just turn up on the day the bike you want might not be available. Always better calling them first. I think they might have a message function on the website as well.

It’s just like riding a 50cc bike. So in the UK it’s a CBT for 16yrs and over and you can ride with L plates.
