So beautifully explained the situation in Himalayas and other states. We need to introspect our own way of life. Percentage of people like you is extremely low. I rarely find anybody in places where i work and live who truly worries about nature except career and politics... We need such reporting and events in every locality to target especially the young children

Yes, we are extracting rocks for cement : making tunnels : making more dams ; and over all, cutting trees making Himalaya vulnerable. Heat in plains 😢…

Engineers rejected the hydro idea due to impracticality. Excess electricity from variable water flow poses storage challenges, and demand peaks in summer when production can't be reduced. A more viable approach is to focus on developing solar and wind power, which offer greater flexibility and sustainability. These alternatives can better address energy needs.

Its all just the way of earth distruction. We human being are too greedy to think about future other than making money. Hardly very few bothers about environment and climate change. And only people who are concerned will think about all these disasters and worry about it and take action towards sustainability which i dont think really going to make any difference 😢 Because those who take action are very very few. Its so depressing to see people destroying the mother earth. We dont deserve to live here..

We don't want haphazard urbanization anywhere in the name of development. The hilly areas are more vulnerable. Stop exploitation of these areas in the name of religious tourism, revenue generation. We humans are so selfish and dangerous, wherever we go we leave no stones unturned to fulfill our desires blindly.

She also wrote an article last year telling her experience when she was working with a group of engineers from India's top institute, those engineers sidelined her and ultimately that development led to disaster. More than extreme weather it is extreme destruction...and most of it is due to changes in in land use,destruction and artifical changes of flora,land use pattern and obstruction or narrowing of the drainage area of the land... If odstructed water is the most destructive force on habitable land

Extreme weather tears apart existing productive capacity, the trillions $ of infrastructure globally, none of which is designed for today’s and emerging extremity. Your, everybody’s choices must face this reality. Renewables, anything made of the global or even national supply chains will be burnt or washed away, along with the systems to manufacture and distribute them. Consider your investments for mitigation and adaption carefully

Many a Landslides are actually Road Side Slides. while making the roads, people make vertical cuts on the hills. Then it rains and the vertical parts of the road sides slide down. People call it land slide erroneously. Ig the roads are cut properly and stabilized properly the land slides will reduce drastically. These Road slide slides are also cause of undue flooding. The material that slides down gets into the streams are rivers reducing their hydraulic radius. That is Bottle necking of the flow it obviously causes floods ... YES these disasters are manmade. No point in blaming this on Nature and hiding behind the Global warming.
