My friend and I enjoyed our time in Treehaus' room more than any other at AXPONA last year. They played great music outside of the mainstream of what you hear in most rooms (Bjork was a highlight), the system sounded great and Rich was very easy to talk to about his designs. I'm looking forward to making a return visit this year.

Rich is a lovely knowledgeable guy and Rullit coils are exceptional. I’ve been using them with single ended amps for years

Thanks for a peak on interesting system. I personally think speakers might go with some living room decors due to the most interesting wood. Are these his top of line?

Hello, Joe. Happy New Year! Yes, they are... There is the entry version, the "National Treasure" starting about $19,000/pr., and these, "The Phantom of Luxury" version, starting about $29,000/pr. See Rich's site for more information here - www.treehausaudiolab.com/

Lookswise a little polarising on the loudspeakers... But completely unique and would certainly make a talking point even before guest listeners are seduced with the music. Cheers Greg 👍🏻

Happy New Year, Marcus. There is NO QUESTION that your concern over appearances are valid. I admit to finding the nostalgic look of the electronics and the chaotic, irregular speaker baffle to be appealing in a specific sense. But I suspect that many would not be so accepting of such appearances in a prime living- or family space in the average home. But the sonic "argument" it is capable of rendering is very compelling... 😊

Question for all. If you had $1,200 to spend on a DAC or amplifier which would you upgrade 1st? The amplifiers that I was looking at are the Purifi Eval-1 and Hypex N-Corx500. For a DAC I was going to look at the used market in the $1,200 range. Is it better to invest in the DAC or amplifier 1st when you’re slowly trying to building up your system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Hello. Well, rather than having to try to guess at which component is the weaker link, let's look at this practically. The heart of any system has to be seen as the electronics, the systems integrated amp, or linestage, phonostage, stereo amp, or monoblocks, etc. These components comprise what should be seen as the *core* of your system. It is most likely that once you have established that satisfying *core,* you will find yourself changing sources, even cables and speakers, more frequently. From that perspective, it makes sense to focus on building a good, solid core, by selecting the proper amplification first...then concerning yourself with any "sources" you want.

I use a pair of Purifi monoblocks to drive the woofers in our speakers at shows and in our demo space. My particular pair are VTV and I upgraded the input buffer to those made by Neurochrome. I have tried them on the full range driver as well to see how well they compared to the 300B amp and other solid state amps I have tried in the past, and I have to say the Purifi is extremely good. I would highly recommend them with an upgraded input buffer. It seems most Purifi builders (VTV, Buckeye) offer good input buffer options and would be within your budget. (they were good with the stock hypex/ eval1 buffer board, but with an upgraded buffer they really shined)

As Joe Biden is apt to say, "Two words, just plain ugly." Sound is promising but the "tree house" theme needs to be restrained.

LOL... Beauty in the eye...and all that. 😉

We do have some more "restrained" plinth options..
