Swap your hard drive out with an ssd. I did it in my ps4 slim and it's so much faster and doesn't lag in menus and the home screen and loading times are extremely short

Not quite sure, external HDD uses USB interface, however, the internal HDD of the ps4 uses SATA interface. Better load the entire contents of your external HDD to the ps4 then try rebuilding database

Yes, but turning on boost mode only enhances pre ps4 pro games, the ps4 pro games are already optimized for you, so doing anything described in this video will not help at all.

I did it and it does not sign you off at all so yeah, also if you ever put a disc in but your ps4 does not detect that its in or the disc does not want to come out, the database thing also helps so the ps4 starts working again

If it’s very buggy laggy try setting your TV to game mode if that’s an option on your TV. It took my lag completely away
