Without a doubt, The E3 2004 was one of the best! Only spectacular games announced! Devil May Cry 3 Dante's Awakening, the best game I've ever played being announced... It must have been something surreal for those who witnessed it at the time.

It was. At the time it seemed like everything we ever wanted from a DMC sequel. After 2 our expectations were so low. Itsuno and the team understood the mission. The hype was unreal. In some ways more intense than with 5, because there only three DMC games.

It’s kinda funny to see Phantom and realize that even all the way back 20 years ago people were trying to do the whole ‘games on demand’ thing. It’s hard to say if it ever fully worked yet but it’s crazy to think how long the idea’s been around.

2004 was one of my favorite years in gaming: Half-Life 2, DOOM 3, Fable, Halo 2, Silent Hill 4, Ninja Gaiden, Tales of Symphonia, WWE Day of Reckoning, Gradius V, ESPN NFL 2K5, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, OutRun 2, Spider-Man 2, Mortal Kombat Deception, Way of the Samurai 2, Rainbow Six: Black Arrow, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (still prefer the PS1 original), and Resident Evil Outbreak.
