I have noticed that in this demo they use the victory theme from Mario Kart Wii, the race intro theme from Mario Kart 7, the camera doesn't turn from in front to behind the character at the beginning of the race, and in the intros there is no cup name, race name or anything like that (which is to be expected since the game only had 3 races at the time)

I noticed Toadette got first place when the race ended but Donkey Kong passed Toadette after both characters crossed the finish line and the game registered Toadette as second place.

Not really... Just because the Glider and Underwater sections are in, It doesnt mean that it is copying Mario Kart 7. I live it how everybody notices this, but forgets that they may have "copied" the Wii, by putting Bikes back in. The new anti-gravity is not in any other Mario Kart game, if my memory serves correct...

@@berry.1uvr Of course some changes were made, but I doubt much work was put into them. Textures are clearer and some parts are different, but textures are usually created in a higher resolution then scaled down when put into games like Tour so they run smoothly. As for the textures that appear different like the Sky Garden track, they could have have multiple candidates for a design and chose to take two very different looking ones in order to cover up the fact that these courses were copied and pasted. Remember bud, it's not just about textures. The designs themselves are nearly identical.
