I dived there 2019 I think. Best dive ever and I’ve dived the world. The strong currents make it hard to choose w window. But also encourage the growth of marine life. It’s a protected reserve with no fishing allowed which also helps. Great memories. Thank you.

It's definitely one of the best wreck dives in the world with huge numbers of big fish almost guaranteed

Added to bucket list. Looks incredible. And not just because the last dive I went on the temp was 5c and the visibility 10m.... That last dive of the day is always the coldest no matter where you are.

I used to dive in 12C water and thought that was cold, it would take no end of convincing to get me in 5C!

@@SailingNoRegrets We're in the middle of the US, 9 hours away from any ocean. So we mostly do quarry diving around here. Deep, Dark, and cold. Great in the Summer, not so much in the winter... 🤪

i loved that dive but i bought split fins from cairns which made it difficult with the current

It can be quite strong, but luckily every time we have dived her it hasn't been too bad

Thanks Peter, it was an awesome dive, a few videos taken with GoPro 5 didn't give it justice. We've upgraded that one for better videos now on

Incredible! That grouper was amazing. The best of your vids so far 👍

Thank you, we upgraded our spare GoPro after that dive catching Jo with the grouper. We were a little disappointed with the quality. Next time we go past hopefully we can dive it again!

Looks like a nice dive! I guess as old as it is, probably hard to identify any actual parts of the ship?

It has a fair amount of coral grown over, but you see fire bricks, valve handles and other small bits and pieces plus the larger structure of lifeboat davits, fore & after masts laying out. We were too distracted looking at the huge amount of fish life to stop and look closely at the wreck. You swim in towards something take a look and are quickly drawn away by something big swimming by!

Such an awesome wreck, we had ripping currents on it when did it, how was currents for you
@SailingNoRegrets4 жыл бұрын
On our second day we had a moderate current, but could swim against it. I've heard stories of the current being so strong that the ascent lines have the floats below the surface. The morning was stronger lessening during the day for us

@@SailingNoRegrets that is awesome and got good conditions. It was really strong day we did it but had bull shark on bow which made the swim against current worth it

Oh man, my neoprene would have been soiled if that snake got that close to me hahahaa Seriously though the dive looks amazing

Haha, have a look at our Chesterfield episode, a snake there took a fancy to Jo and her pink fins, she didn't appreciate the interest!
