Leaving Magnetic Island, Townsville we have a fantastic downwind sail out to John Brewer Reef where we dive the Museum of Underwater Art. With perfect glass out conditions we then dive on the reef wall with superb visibility and happily find amazing colourful coral all in a very healthy condition.
We free dive inside the lagoon and use our spear gun for the first time in almost 2 years since carrying it onboard, and find the largest Triton shell in amazing condition that we have seen. For dinner we spear a snapper and coral trout, and also catch a very nice painted cray which we bring to a shared dinner on SV Vamonos.
