Ive got the schrick 264/256 in my S52 (built myself in the UK with an M50 manifold and euro S50 headers) and even with a really good tune it still lacks a bit of torque but at 4200rpm it goes off like a rocket. Ok for a weekend drive but not great for a daily driver. I would be interested to hear how yours feels with the cams with the stock manifold below 4200rpm?

Relatively strong midrange below 4500rpm ish. Feels much torquier than my E92 M3. Since it has an M52 manifold power really drops off after 5000-5500 and it really doesn’t like going to 7k. I plan on doing an M50 manifold eventually, should be pretty awesome.

You can see on the dyno chart how its building power from around 3700 rpm up to peak torque at 4200 (peak hp at 6400) and theres not much between it and euro s50 cars (mine has a type 188 3.46 lsd). But as my daily driver i would sacrifice some hp to bring the torque down the rpm a bit and the m52/s52 manifold is the easiest way to do that. You cant advance the intake cam or retard exhaust cam due to piston to valve clearances. I might dyno it with a stock manifold on and post a dyno comparison video. Im sure you will love it with m50 on though, most of my mates think im crazy putting a stock manifold back on

@@ricegarage btw i did the maths and the schricks and s52 cams have almost identical intake valve close and exhaust valve open timings. All the extra duration in the schricks is around tdc giving more overlap. The extra duration also allows more lift. Also, we dont use off the shelf tunes in the UK, we bespoke tune, so i tuned mine myself and its running about 8 to 12° more timing than stock in all the power areas on premium pump fuel with no knock at all, and more timing was still giving more power. Fuel was adjusted and rescaled for larger injectors (pink injectors were running at over 95% duty at higher rpms) for afr 12.5-13 and vanos optimised on both light and heavy throttle maps. You cant beat a bespoke tune

Supposedly an older AFE intake that was part of the turner motorsports stage 3+ power kit around 15 years ago. It doesn't have a logo on it anywhere unfortunately. Has a stock S52 manifold. Hopefully doing an M50 manifold swap soon.

I prefer the e46 but yea, the e36 is still very good.
