People don't realize just how hard it is to dig certain stumps. Back in the early 70's I was running a D-8(46a) and had to dig out a 7 or 8 foot Douglas Fir stump so we could build a logging road in the forest.(Oregon) I had it pretty well loosened up but couldn't get it to break free. About that time another D-8 came along and we teamed up on it. Both Cats pushed and lifted with their blades until we ran out of travel with the lift cylinders, then one Cat would hold the stump so the other could get another hold then the Cat that was holding backed off a bit and got another hold, then we just rolled it out of the hole. That root-wad was so big that I could winch it but couldn't drag it with just the Cat pulling to the burn pile. But again, we teamed up on it with me dragging it and the other Cat pushing. Life is a blast when you're a kid(or an old guy) and can play in the dirt and build things!(Any equipment operator knows what I'm talking about)

Buy a frost tooth for your excavator it will blow your mind. I have one for my 435ZHS and it is amazing. Its is very fast and leaves very little mess/hole to repair. I also can remove stumps much larger than a machine my size should be able to do. You just poke it in the ground, feel for the four or five major roots and break them. Then pull and twist the stump and it pops right out. The reason is all the force of the machine is put into one single tooth. Land clearing is our specialty.

Thats a big stump compared to the size of the E50, imagine scaling it up to 20t excavator and stump with those proportions... The E50 definitely packs some punch for its size.
