I love to be able to smell the surroundings when riding a motorcycle.

Many places in Europe use volcanic ash in their roads. It is this ash that holds the oils in the tar when it rains the oil floats to the top of the road surface. And it doesn’t wash away so the road stays slick until it dries. This is true in Italy and Japan. I have lived in both countries and rode motorcycles in both countries.

Maybe this explains the rainy ice rinks I had to ride on one day in the south of France. Built up area. I was shitting myself.

Beautiful, scenic ride! I clearly heard you use the English word "antiquated"! Which proves you're really an American posing as a Norwegian 😀😀. At 13:07 when you first arrived at Cabo De Roca and I saw all the tourists/people. I imagined Johnathan was seeing roaches 🤣😂😎!! Stay warm and safe!

Thats cool.I just have so many bad experiences with police in so many countries that at this point they freak me out. I'm loving Portugal! You need to come back here and go for a ride then 😝

The most excellent motorcycle and coffee community coming together again. Love it. Pedro top chap. And law enforcement types buying coffee ☕️ too, excellent. Just regular guys wearing blue uniform. Norwegian weather, no? English too. Should feel natural to us northerners.. All weather has it's charms, and no sun shines like the sun after the rain. Good one 👍. Happy travels 👍

Yeah can't ask for anything more 😛 Love meeting people like this! Yeah it surprised me, but finally a positive interaction with police 😅 I like this weather, apart from getting wet 😅 It is really fresh and beautiful.

That’s a great ride despite the rain. The shoreline is beautiful. That must be a wild place to be during a storm! Nice of the officers to buy you a coffee. Ride safe Kenneth…….

So you really hate police. How would you feel if someone said they really hate Norwegians?
@RidetheBean2 жыл бұрын
🤷🏼♂️ I’ve met people who do… it’s an opinion… probably formed by certain experiences. I don’t hate all police. But ai have Ahmad so many negative interactions with police that they freak me out and make me jump every time I see a uniform.

He’s just speaking from his experience just take it with a grain of salt and understand what he’s saying. It not that he hates them as a human. He hates them from his experience. Hard to explain but really he doesn’t hate the as a human.

So sad to hear you have this enormous anxiety about meeting police officers on duty, even when they are riding motorcycles and having a coffee with you. There realy should be no reason for that. Know, there 's always a large % of them spending their free days on bikes aswell. I can understand this anxiety in some countries outside the EU, but for the most part..... Being a police officer myself (in Belgium), motorcycling around Europe on hollidays, and as a patreon of your channel, I just could not resist to reply & disagree on this one. But & so ...... Whenever you deside to go back north, pass through Belgium. I would be so glad to have you as a guest and show you a bit of my little country on 2 wheels (maybe @ in some offroad TET ). Feel free to PM me, you are most welcome. Stephan (ps: this is actualy an invitation 😇)

Yeah I get it. I grew up in a police family so it’s not like I just hate police for no reason. But I have had too many interactions with police that were extremely negative for no reason. Not just in Norway, but in many countries. I don’t know why, but I’ve been profiled countless times and treated like a bag of dirt without any good reason other than a show of force and power so many times that now I freak out every time I see a uniform. Because 7/10 interactions i’ve had with police have been terrible. Not saying all police are abusive, but the likelihood of the one interacting with me is, is high. My dad is also a policeman so I kind of grew up I’m with police around me. I’ve seen good police too. But the majority I’ve met are not good. I’m only speaking from my own experiences, so I get if you disagree with me 🙂 We all form our opinions and views based on our own experiences. Not sure when I’ll be coming through Belgium again, but if I do I’d love to have a coffee with you 😛
