My first ever medium format camera, when i was part of a camera club in 1985, the hassleblad guys smirked and joked when we went on a day/evening out, until their perfectly sharp boring pictures were printed off and my less than perfect but better images were shown. If theres one thing you buy in your life get a Lubitel 166B, Ive still got mine and I love it. brilliant video and keep up the great vlogs

I shoot 4x5 b&w and have a 6x17 back for those rare occasions. There are times when you just know 6x6 will work and mine stays in my pack. But I find the old pocket folders far superior to the dual reflex and a heck of a lot easier to use and smaller. And, you're saving a part of history . Some of that Voighlander glass is 100 years old and truly spectacular.

Reminds me how it feld taking photos with my own LUBITEL 30+ years ago (I still have it but dont use it) Its a great camera for the price and most importantly it teaches you a lot (depth of field, exposure time, ASA etc etc ) unlike todays Point and shoot cameras + accidental double exposures.... The rocks and stream B & W was brilliant. You have a great composition sense and great ability to determine what would be good in B & W. I had a Mamiya C330 twin-lens reflex that had interchangeable lenses. I really loved the camera but wasn't too fond of the 6 x 6 format. I sold that camera to buy a Leica R SLR. Later, I did acquire a Kiev 88 (maybe same factory in USSR made those as Lubitel). It was OK but the manufacture of that camera was so uneven. When you use the graduated ND how did you determine where on the taking lens to put it to mask the sky given that the viewing and taking lenses are different? Also, did you make any parallax corrections for the photo of the stream? Do you scan your own negatives? Like you I still love film although nowadays I just take 4 x 5 B & W "snapshot" unlike you who make photographs. But--it is fun and gives me pleasure.

Hi, fantastic video and photos. I'm planning to photograph a couple of villages next week. I think the weather forecast for next week is cloudy. What film would you advise me to use from portra 400, Portra 160 ane ektar 100 considering the weather forecast, and keeping in mind, village scenery will include stone buildings, water, grass, hedges and cloudy skies. I will be using a Bronica S2.

Jas Mann if you're using the Bronica on a tripod then the slower films are ideal. You can always push Portra a stop if needed.

e6 Vlogs Yes definitely on a tripod. I want at least f11, therefore I was thinking the 400asa film, and ideally as fast shutter speeds as possible to avoid any shake from the mirror slap, but I suppose the 160asa will give far cleaner images, so tripod it is. Thanks for your quick response. Love your photography.

Light leaks? I put a grad filter on my Hassy and got what seemed to be light leaks. I know My hassy backs are all light tight! which leads me to believe that the sun was bouncing off the corners of the filter. I've not used that filter on the hassy since and ive also not had any light leaks either. Food for thought.

Do you have any idea where the light leak in the one shot came from? What I do like about the shots you've made is the vignetting - I guess this is what the Lubitel lens does by itself (I tried ony with one film, but results weren't good due to the shutter being unreliable on this old and unused camera).

I was going to ask on another video if you did any film videos as I realised the e6 in your channel's name is a type of film. I use a Weston Masters II light metre when I use my Bronica, it's 65 years old and still accurate which is more than can be said about me and I've not reached that age yet. As usual a brilliant video and I for one would appreciate more film videos. Do you do any film courses please? I can't afford one yet, I've been off ill for a month so went on eBay and bought 4 cameras and my wife says I can't have any more spending money. But I would be really interested in joining a film course if you run one.

Hi Mark. Well, first of all, well done for getting the e6 connection (transparency film process), a lot of people assume its postcode related! Glad you are enjoying the film-based vlogs. Whilst I don't run a specific film course, my online courses do cater for film camera users as well as digital, having shot with film myself for 20years.
