That sounds great. Didn't sound like 8100 RPM though. The engine didn't sound like it was working that hard. Sounded more like 6000-6500 RPM. I've turned a 427 big block to 8300 RPM before and it sounds "tighter" at that RPM. LOL It's a great car anyway.

Thanks, and yeah, it turns that high. Doesn't sound like it because it does it so easily. Data showed 8100 at the end of first gear right before I shifted. It's built to rev and makes a lot of power. At least for what it is...

468 BBC on motor 9,200 shifts solid roller. Street and strip car I bought good price turn key. 5.13 rear spool, power glide 5,000 stall with trans break, 454 cid 2 bolt main ARP stud kit. Yes I'm aware the 4 bolt block is better but that is what this came with .060" over 2 bolt main ARP stud kit, 14.25 compression, 2 x 1150 carbs on a high rise tunnel ram, fiber glass front end, lexan windows, MSD 7 ignition, race gas. I bought this car turn key nice to turn big RPM's. But I broke some valve train doing it for a while. High RPM's kill are more wear and tear. I'm sure this motor didn't make power to 9,200 probably max 5,900 if that. But on the street it (felt faster and hit harder.) I moved on now to my other car a tamer 572 BBC cid 10.5 compression pump gas more power and torque dynoed @ 4,000 RPM's 700 torque and @ 5,600 RPM"s 710 horse power, solid flat tappet cam non roller. Around a 312 cc intake runner not massive like most think or choose in a 572 cid. On the street I shift at 4,000 now a whole lot less wear and tear. Racing I turn it up more. But I found if you keep the RPM's down when possible the engine lasts alot longer.
