EA College Football 25 Offense Playbook Guide: Run N' Shoot Edition

The run n shoot was so cool. Colt Brennan at Hawaii was one of my all time favorites. I loved watching June jones at SMU. Zach line was an animal at running back for SMU in the early 2010’s. We ran some run n shoot stuff with Hal Mumme with choice and slide. The biggest problem we had adding that with our air raid is the wr dictates the route but if you don’t have a savvy wr it’s going to be bad. If they have this I hope they incorporate the J drop back of the J draw. A lot of run n shoot stuff has a drifting drop back that is not quite a roll out. SMU used to run a really cool draw to Zach line off of it.

People forget the K-gun in Buffalo and the Houston Oilers with Warren Moon were to high powered Run-n-Shoot offenses in the 90’s before Hawai’i and Colt Brennan

I’m not entirely sure what their offense style is, but you should watch film/cover Kansas’s offense the last few years under Andy Kotelnicki, who just left KU for Penn State’s OC job this past offseason! That offense is a beauty to watch and definitely going to be my first playbook on NCAA 25

I think when I customize my playbook I’ll run a spread n shoot if you will. Solid mix of short passes and options to wear down the defense for a deep pass on the other side of the 50

i used this offense in madden and had great success in my online franchises over the past couple years. just wish they had more answers in the red zone with more formations and inclusion of tight ends. Running the ball is also pretty mid at least with the madden playbook. If this college football game allows custom playbooks with the run n shoot plays, i will be combining the run n shoot with the triple option 😈

Add a full house pistol formation with bigger backs i.e Eddie George to pass block but in the full house pistol you either use them as blockers for your smaller shiftier back or hand the ball off to them straight ahead when you have a 3rd or 4th and short, it's an intriguing curveball you can use to throw off an opponent

Generic playbook I'd go Spread or Air Raid. Even though they will mostly contain 4 wide. I haven't dabbled in 5 wide enough. Let me check some out and I'll give you a better answer.

I wouldn't put one above the other. Just depends on what you're trying to do. I personally like the Veer and Shoot more because it ties in better with my run game.
