@@kieran6603 Im gonna agree here. In earlier games you could stand still and they'd still sometimes defend fine with the Ai. Sure, scripting them to purposely stop challenging is absolutely bullshit, but you now actually have more control of the defense than before

Which is all good if the defending mechanics are actually good. But despite it being in the game for a decade you still need to tackle 27 times to actually get the ball back. And a guy can just trivela (whatever the fuck that is) or finesse shot from 35 yards which is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.

Been doing this for ages 😊 also you already know tapping L1/LB makes players make a run for a through ball, but also tapping R1/RB makes a player run towards you giving you a short option

Careful not to overuse it. If you use it in a wrong time, the partial team press opens up many through ball options.

I've been using it from the start. Just remember you have to press the player on the ball whilst ai moves the 2 closest defending players to the attacking player's. It takes a bit to get use to using tho

@@THEGUIDE_bPG I use Saliba and Rudiger and find it hard to defense against strikers with higher attack positioning, while using VVD it was way easier. EA must have nerfed teammate contain this year, last year you can deadlock the strikers with any defenders. That's why using slower CBs with high DEF such as Dias is easier to defense against cut back in comparison with higher PACE but lower DEF ones.

Never had a problem with cut backs just cut the angle off switch between the cover player and a little bit of timed rb defending

Another method can be positioning the player ur controlling towards the cutback so it can be intercepted or force the opponent to shoot in a tight angle or go back. It’s risky but I’ve found success in because the assumption of players is that someone is always there to receive the ball.

This can work but against really good players you are going to run into the problem, that they just dribble closer and closer to your goal until they either get a second passing option or they can croqueta shoot around your keeper

This has been in FIFA for some time, doesn't work well if they cut it back from in close as the defender doesn't really mark the attacker but instead just stands sorta near him after a while. If they just spam shoot they'll likely hit it anyway

Finesse shots, long shots, through ball 1on1 with gk, german cross, corner goals, free kick goals, first time volley goals, flick power shot, normal cross, fancy shot, bicycle kick goal, but you bought it so it is up to you
