You can also do it holding l1+r1 and doble square, it does get more curve and the pass is way stronger

Holding L1 lobs the ball when you cross. Holding R1 is for manual precision cross

Crosses can't be green timed, only finishes

You dont have to time the second input. Just power up the cross and press the cross button again. The interval between the two doesnt matter
