We need this mode also in WRC Sports what Generation had. So a multiplayer mode ,where you also have a co-pilot as a player ,that would be ultra nice, maybe you could check if that works EA Sports and Codemaster. And I'm really looking forward to finally driving myself.

I agree the Co-Driver mode in the WRC games was fun I've only played it a couple times but it's definitely a mode that needs to be in all rally games!

Not really? A lot of good sims are still drivable with controllers. I use both a wheel and controller in DR2 (whenever I don't feel like setting up my wheel) and they both work great. I don't see how it makes the game look bad at all that one of the players prefers a controller, I think it's great that they've built sim games that are accessible to different playstyles.

@@PIECEofTOAST The issue is the player showcased was Adrien Fourmaux, a WRC-2 driver. Part of his job is to drive a car with a wheel, but they gave him a controller instead. I don't think the game is that realistic, it get's basic car physics right but it is oversimplified. For example on jumps you can launch a group n car 60 meters long and it will be more a less stable. In real life, you will most likely get heavy suspension damage at the least. I still think it is going to be a good game and I will try it, but it would be wrong in my opinion to market it as a fully blown, hardcore simulator like they do. It is more in the reigon of GT Sport or F1 2021 (I haven't played the latest one so I cannot judge).

You can clearly see that EA wants to bring the rally to more people through this game, and that's cool, a great opportunity, you can reach a very large number of people, and there's nothing better than a game for that. I understand perfectly that even for this the whole issue of playing with a controller exists, and it's not bad, I started dirt 2.0 with a controller, the entire Colin series and all other racing games were on the controller, only recently I got one steering wheel. So as long as they don't ruin the experience for those who have a steering wheel, everything is welcome, and I know that this is a challenge, to please those who know rally and have a steering wheel and enjoy simulators and PC, and at the same time be accessible to those who have a console and controller. and even more so for those who have no contact with rallying or have had little contact with it.

I just don't understand people at all. First gameplay preview they had a wheel. People moaned saying we want to see it with a controller. Now there shown it with a controller, people moan again saying its not realistic cos they're not using a wheel. Game developers just can't win at all these days. It's a game, a wheel will add some realism, but obviously they still need to make it fun. The fact that 2 rally drivers have shown it with a wheel and a controller now shows its accessible and fun for both people who want a sim and people who would struggle and enjoy it more on a controller. Plus half the people moaning probably don't even have a driving licence let alone have rally driving experience. And those saying it's not real cos a jump would cause damage. Would you not be pissed off if in a game if you was doing a 20min rally course, did a jump, broke the suspension on landing and verged off into a tree and you was only a minute from the end? These people would then moan its too realistic. Personally I think ea and codmasters are doing a great job showcasing us what the game has to offer whilst listening to rally fans and trying to keep everyone happy. I can't wait to play it and I'm glad it can be used by both a wheel and a controller.

There's nothing wrong with showing controller gameplay. People are dunking on it because of the context - they've invited a real driver to get in some real rally driving. Training them with a gamepad is silly, and I say that as a gamepad player.

@@jukewak The arcade-ish physics are evident, but not because controller is a viable option. Plenty of hardcore simulators allow using it, even keyboard. RBR with NGP physics is an example - the very best rally simulator out there, that makes kiddos cry because "low grip and boaty cars I'm going off the road all the time oh my god what crap physics are these I'm going back to GTA V". It is probably the _best_ example, since the base game has unmatched, amazing input filter settings for controllers and keyboards that allow to transform 0% _or_ 100% on-off inputs into smoother ones with speed-based constraints. Granted, I don't think one can drive on the limit with that on tarmac. But loose surfaces require a driving style based around pivoting the car through the corners, which means you are steering with the angle of attack rather than with the steering wheel as on tarmac. So the yanking inputs that result from keyboards or controllers can be no issue and even pretty natural on loose surfaces, which is what they were driving in this video, and in fact they yank the steering wheels like that in real life as well.

wtf, they didnt even try to make it believable. at least give her a wheel setup to practice on if you are going to claim your game helped her learn how to drive an irl rally car. this is so silly. maybe they didnt want to use a wheel, because of 1 of 2 reasons. 1. the target audience uses a gamepad, so they didnt want them thinking the game was designed for wheel users. 2. they dont want this to backfire when wheel users get their hands on the game and its not realistic at all.

@@luisinhowow422 aún no publican nada, pero ya confirmaron que usaron el mismo motor de físicas para el DR, lo que significa que lo más probable es que solo tenga un eje en el medio del auto. Aún así no podemos estar seguros hasta que el juego salga, ya que en algunas Builes que dieron no se notaba esto, pero en otras builds se notaba mucho

The rest of the game is miles better. Circle jerking over NGP car behaviour is fine, I guess, but there's no game structure to tie it all together, and it looks and sounds like complete shit by today's standards. If driving the same 20 year old stages (and the amateurish modded stuff) does it for you, great, but some of us want a fresh game to jump into.
