Finally, they announced official VR support at the end of April. How do you like the beyond for sim racing? I'm thinking of getting one if nothing better comes out by Christmas..

That’s great! I hope they don’t ruin the replay feature with their floating window like 2.0. The UEVR lets me BE on the side of the road spectating. I like it… but it requires so much more power that I actually run in worse graphics settings in the Beyond but not in my quest 2/3. But the contrast and quality is leagues better than the quests. If u don’t have base stations and index controllers you’re looking at a large startup cost (I had to)

@@nongamerplays I tell everybody that the sweet spot is the Quest pro or 3 with a 4090 right now for sim racing. That headset needs eye tracking and we need DFR support in every sim title. I can run ACC with some really high settings on my pro with DFR and make it look almost as good as AMS2. I'm only getting a higher res headset when 5090's come out.

DFR is the only focusing where your eyes look ya? I don’t want that… it makes for terrible videos with 90% of the screen blurry. Unless it can record differently. I don’t have eye tracking HMD tho so only by what I’ve seen on YT

thanks for the info i only heard they were working on it and i bought it 3 days ago unaware there wasnt any VR support at the time

Actually this video is from before they launched official VR support - u can play VR without mods now. And no, the UEVR mod doesn’t work anymore (for me) which is too bad because it worked better with UEVR than it does with official VR :/

Your pc specs? I can't get it to run any good with any settings.. maybe 60fps but the graphics look horrible... My pc specs: RTX 3070, i5-13400F 2.50 GHz, 16gb ram and Quest 2 headset. Your game looking a lot better :D

Yeah i tried it a few weeks back with a 3080, 5800X3D and 32GB ram installed on an NVME with a Quest 3 and i could not get a smooth experience even on low. Or i could get a locked 80fps but it would stutter when i drove fast. On top of that it just looked blurry. I guess peoples tolerance to what's acceptable is different. Or he has like a 4090 lol

@RASVAKEITIN666 - yeah I think it’s still going to require beefy specs until they officially make it work but you could also look at the DLSS options (I reduced mine to Performance) and I’m going to try the free FSR plugin again here soon. My specs are 3090, i9 12000k, 64GB ddr5, and my Bigscreen Beyond (in most games if I use my quest I can keep the settings higher) I can run on medium while NOT recording and down to Low while recording and still not perfect (yet)

@86themadhatter27 I wish I had a 4090 argh! Would make this recording stuff a lot better! I was getting a good 90 while NOT recording but maybe 50-60 and dips while recording (medium settings while not recording, low while recording) I spent time messing with the settings to get better performance but at the cost of graphics. And yes I have an iron VR stomach!

bit misleading title was thinking official support... uevr is old news

Not misleading. It’s playable in VR using the UEVR. Old news… not sure how that’s true since more and more games can be used with UEVR. Sorry you thought a tiny little channel got the scoop on all the big ones but i didn’t say anything about official.
