Did enjoy the video. As I see it there is a LOT of game here. And for the price... Lets all hope it will be wrapped in a fluid experience and good handling. A wee bit hyped for this but I'm holding off until someone outside gets to have their say in how it drives and feels.

Absolutely. It does seem almost too good to be true doesn't it? I believe EA content creators will have the game now or very soon and in the second week of October we should get their views on the game, and then close to release the full reviews will pop up so not too long to wait. I feel like there are so much potential in this game. I totally agree with your take on parts sacrificing one part like top speed for acceleration it would make so much sense. In the beginning builder will feel so good, but like you said hours into the game you will have money just to go fastly through builder and get the best parts. Making parts have different advantages would make builder much more dymanic. Btw I have been loving your EA WRC update videos

Great Video . (yet again ). Even more extra bits and snippets , I missed when watching the promo dives. 100% right in that Builder mode is hopefully the first steps of a journey . I suppose it is wether or not an annual reset. No idea Not overly bothered about hud clusters personally Im more into sound n vision and the occaisional red light . But an interesting addition for those that use them. And am somewhat more enthusiastic for Regularity . Especially if you are penalised for stopping or slowing down by spotters. Something different afterall and I'm too old to be fast. Time trials wise I would assume its down to server capacities and sheer numbers of potential combinations. Not really a clue tbh..( should be my motto) Anyway again Many thanks for your take on the game play and keen eye in drawing the focus away for the obvious.. Keep them comming,

@@AutySim No problems - glad to have helped (or is it hindered). The more I look at the calendar the more I agree with you.. Its more a Video / DVD / CD library shelf format . Not nice to look at and for me, rather un intuative . It reads, more like a bottom half of a power point graph with its rotated vertical text . Left to right scrolling for days and weeks when most calendar list formats scroll up/down does seem strange. and pretty horrible when the VR version pops its head up . Even a roller desk scrolls vertically iirc Never been overly fond of colour coding more a cop out as colours are percieved differently for all. . What ever happened to icon designers are they too expensive nowadays or just a dying art form ?

I think part of the builder options will be more impactful that they would first appear since we will be restricted by the teams budget. I'm sure in some categories you'll be able to just pick the 'best' but it will come as a trade off with having to pick an inferior part in another category too stay in budget, maybe giving up an aspect of tuning or taking on extra weight, etc.

Nice video and a few details I'd missed in there, especially the H2 FWD part of the career. I'll be honest (and a comment for the algorithm gods), I'm really looking forward to driving the game, but the 'Career' and game modes in general feel like a big step back for me from DR2. If it was a detailed and dynamic game world, fine, but it feels like we lose DR2's simplicity but don't get much back in exchange. - Randomised calendars for each year: gone (even more gutting when there's all the season effects which will never be used in WRC events) - Ability to run through seasons in historic cars: gone - There's no 'dynamism' in the game world; drivers moving between teams from year to year like the F1 game - A huge amount of clutter in the calendar - if you want to focus on WRC1 are you going to care about local FWD tournaments? - Moments replacing Dailies/Weeklies feels like a huge backwards step - one was a quick blast each evening and result the next day - that immediacy and global community feel is gone - 'Build a car' seems very prominent and I'm hoping to ignore it completely, doesn't appeal one bit personally And the 'build a team' thing, I agree with you - it's a nice option (and I really like that the game is honest enough to know young drivers require 'benefactors') but there's something completely amiss when you can't get hired by a works team. It's literally there in the WRC1 rules that only works teams can enter (Bertelli, Sederedis etc are still entered by the factory). All in all, this deep dive left me with more questions than I had before. Can't wait for the driving (by far the most important part) but I'm a little disappointed by the design of the game. Not the end of the world.

Yea. I get some of your criticisms and whilst I'm not overly fussed about calendar rotation, it would be a nice option. I think they've spread themselves over a large amount of features for this initial release and hopefully in future iterations, they can double down and improve on those features to a sim that hopefully, we all love. The stages in the yearly season rallies may well be randomised. WRC Generations has a not dissimilar career and the stages are randomised.

A "step back" from DR 2.0 that didn't have any career??? DR 2.0 had literally nothing... all you could do was go and drive and 99.9% of the players spent their whole time either doing the community monthly challenges and weekly challenges or doing speed runs on free trial . Sorry but DR 2.0 was a fantastic driving game but in terms of modes it was literally the definition of dogshit... this game will have a proper career mode to immerse yourself in a real WRC calendar season and aim for the world title... that alone is MASSIVE... this will be THE most popular mode in the game and something that Dirt Rally 2.0 didn't even come close to having... Also dirt rally 2.0 simplicity can't be lost... all you need to do is go to time trials and keep doing speed runs... or just go to the first multiplayer rally available and run on it against others... I really really don't get your point...

​@@sportschool3537 DR2 Career mode I could enter with any car and each season would be randomly generated for me. Both of those options aren't available to me here. I'm also fearful that I have to choose a difficulty here, instead of quickly finding a challenge through the natural cycle that was in DR1 and 2. Instead, this looks like Dirt4 where there's a lot of pre-set events to wade through but the feeling of change from season to season will be lost because that calendar looks like it will always be 'fixed' in place. It *looks* (could be wrong because it's barely been shown or explained) like the only way to use vintage content in it will be through special events within career and it looks like the game is trying to show all the events in the world to you in one long calendar, presumably to encourage people to drive different things every 'week' in game. And yet despite all this, there's no way to get hired by a works team for a drive. You must start your own team, despite that literally being against the rules for the WRC1 class. It feels so far to me like they've tried to create something more immersive / deep but only gotten halfway into it so far - which is fair for v1 of the new series - but it lacks a lot which would actually make it a 'world' to me, such as yearly calendar, team and driver updates. Hopefully something for future.

Next to the Career there is also a Championship mode without your own team. This lets you choose one of the real teams (and probably the drivers), just climb the ladder this way from JWRC to WRC.

I don’t like the sound of builder mode at all really, it just takes away realism and immersion for me. I’m building a Rally1/2/3 car yet I’m able to build outside that ruleset and make the car mid- or rear-engined 🤔 and then the body panels I slap on top all look like they’re from a £3.49 rally game on steam. I’ll stay well away from it, but obviously that has no ill effect on the rest of the game so I don’t mind! 😅 The only way I’d be excited about builder mode is if we could start with say a Skoda Fabia, VW Polo or Fiesta Rally2 then build it into Rally1 spec (I know the rules in real life are in no way related like that) so as to give the resulting car models some believability
