Actually more than 4 channels if you include the flight mode and aerobatic button but yes, it has throttle, elevator, ailerons, rudder so by your definition it is 4 channels. Include other features it is 6! Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Got mine with 3 batteries for 80 bucks. Ordered 3 props since they tend to pop off and get lost easily. I used mine today first flight, hit the pavement hard and it was perfectly fine! Good 4 channel plane to learn on before upgrading to a 800mm wingspan mustang
@Doggeslife4 жыл бұрын
I got the Mustang, and yeah I like it a lot except for the bank limiter. I wish to do axial rolls, though I know the cambered wing is not ideal for that. It's too windy here to fly such a small craft without any artificial gyro/accelerometer stability, so the gyros-off mode is a no-go. I tried and got tossed about almost immediately like a dry leaf. Amazing how much the artificial stability helps. I liked the mini P-51 so much that I ordered a replacement Mustang wing, fuselage, gear drive and needed bits to build another using a flight control board and 10mm brushless inrunner motor from an e-Flite AS3X-equipped Mig-15 that I bought off eBay cheap. The board runs off 2S 200mAh packs, so I have high hopes for even greater performance, and the BL motor will extend motor life. At 10mm like the stock motor it should fit nicely I ordered the P-51 parts so I would not have to butcher the first Mustang I bought. They are nice enough in stock form that I will leave that first one as-is. The second modified plane will satisfy my desire for more performance and control from it. P.S.... Flew the mini Mustang and my XK X420 VTOL on the same day, and the Mustang is more fun to fly. ;-) I leave the gear off for less drag and hand launch. P.P.S..... Here's my "unrefined" maiden flight video...Not nearly as nice as yours....the jerky footage at the start is me putting my hat-with-camera-mount on my head: kzbin.info/www/bejne/haqphKetg7uWo8U. UPDATE: Change of plans. Just checked my order, and BG says the parts are sold out (they didn't say that yesterday!). Agent tells me that they will ship mid-Jan, so well see. Still waiting for order of X450 parts made Dec. 11 (Jan 1 today). Happy flying!

After getting some experience on the Sport Cub 500 you reviewed, any advice on which Mustang to go with - this mini P51D or the 750mm 768-1 you also reviewed. The 500mm Sport Cub 500 is already a bit hard to see orientation in the sky so I like the larger wingspan of the 768-1 for visibility but have read the 768-1 is faster (perhaps not so good for a beginner/medium pilot) and also propellers aren't the breakaway style and can be fragile. Received my V761-4 today. According to the Chinese shop site "Monkey Hobby" the Tx & receiver in it are the same as in this V761-5. The Tx from our V761-1 Mini Trainstars (has faux RTH feature) will operate the V761-4 and this (and vice versa.) A bit like the different Syma X5 & X8 quad versions can swap controllers (less any features not supported by the least complex partner in the combo.) I tested what happens when signal connection is lost using all 4 combinations of my planes & Txs. On all instances when there was throttle input but no right stick input the motors went to flat out. (IE Bye-Bye plane!) With no throttle input when Tx was turned off the motor stayed off. With motor on and some right stick input it was a bit hit and miss if the motor would shut down or go flat out. Go figure! This Mini P51 is supposed to be made from EPP (though someone on the RC Groups Forums noted that his was quickly scuffed up by tarmac landings) but the V761-4 that I received is a fairly thick EPS framed unit. (No mention in the Banggood ad as to construction material.) We live in hope (no doubt forlorn) as to how long it will stay in 1 piece. EDIT...I was wrong. The foam is EPP - it just looks & feels a bit odd. Survived a few heavy landings today OK.

I'm sure there is a big market for airplanes that can be flown without much coordination, knowledge or experience and have a "wow" factor to them. No argument there. But long term I think this isn't doing our hobby any favors. I have to disagree on the aesthetics of a high wing airplane. like Cub, Timber, Champ, Taylorcraft or Cessna. These are all classics as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know where you live in the world buddy but there are not a lot of kids even trying RC flying these days. This would def be more exciting to them than a high wing trainer. I'm not saying a HWT is the thing to get once you are making a commitment but if all you want to do is TRY IT...then models like this fit the bill. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
