Eachine P51-D mustang RC foam warbird FPV mod

Hi. Nice FPV mod. Flying these little Warbirds is great. My mustang is cut up right now - engine failed. I plan to use it and convert it to brushless. Small FPV camera or a small hdd camera with a microSD card and a second battery, about 10 grams in total - 400mm mustang will handle it just fine. I will try to add a small servo and a Wireless Head Tracker receiver for turning the camera, which is another 7 grams more, and I need the plane to have a bit more thrust.

Thanks! The canopy is from Guillow's Mustang P-51D Balsa Kit. The link is in the description of the video. But if you search on Google, you will surely find other webshops. The scale is not exactly right, so you have to cut it a bit, but it can be solved.

Hi, do you think that i can plug this camera on Volantex spitfire and replace the foam canopy with a transparent one? Or do you know if Volantex will release any Spitfire with transparent canopy like the link you provided with P 51? Thank you and great video!

Hello! Thanks. I think it's worth waiting a bit, maybe the manufacturer will release a transparent canopy version. But I think the Spitfire canopy is much smaller, so it might not fit the camera. @ nice, thnks for the link, ideally i want a small spitfire, 400 mm would be the maximum size, with fpv camera inserted inside the canopy and not outside and with retracted wheels, but this is just a dream..

Yeah I know. Walksnail is a good idea. But unfortunately, due to its weight, it is already a borderline case. Unfortunately, it gets very hot, so it needs a minimum heatsink, which again adds extra weight. Without a cooling fin, if it has just crashed and there is no air flow, it can easily catch fire, the plane and, even worse, the environment. I have also seen that the video transmission is interrupted quickly with 1s battery machines (3.23V?). With 2s, this is no longer such a big problem. But that will be another plane.

@ I've looked into what you're saying and I don't think it's quite true. The Walksnail Avatar HD Mini 1S Lite Kit is under 9 grams and doesn't need a heatsink. It has a overheat shutoff system built in. If you don't trust that I've seen someone let this unit run without a fan for over 7 minutes without causing any damage.

@ kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2q1loubiatspa8 Here's my corsair 400mm with Walksnail. I did get it stuck in a tree and drove home to get some polls to kock it out of the tree. The overheat shutdown mechanism must have worked because it's still working.

@@StickJockeyFPV I looked it up, it's really cool, but it's a mini 1S, not a lite. It has better cooling.

@ It's the mini 1s lite. It came with the heat shield on. Believe me, I went through a fit because it adds another 1.5 grams. It seems like that's how Caddex is shipping them now. It does seem to fly okay with the added weight so it may be a blessing in disguise. They say you can remove it with a razor blade but I'm not so sure if I will need to do that.
