I'm glad I got to cover this new model very shortly after it's release, so I hope you enjoy! For the next few weeks I plan on catching up with the Universe collection I've been neglecting as I still ship the monthly subscriptions to my parent's place. But let me know if there are other models you'ld be interested in seeing first

Not a specific model, but it would be fun to see a ranking/top 10 list series

@@Goldenrye21 Like specifically related to the Eaglemoss models or in general? I do have a script for a "top 10 weirdest things in Star Trek cannon" as I think it would do well and be quick/easy to throw together when I'm busy with school. But the Poorly Explained has been a higher priority

@@CaptNSquared I was thinking something like "best xl's" or "ranking all the discovery models"

From the episode 'The Pegasus', not from 'These Are The Voyages' (that's an Enterprise episode.

Yep, that's the joke. The Pegasus is the TNG episode that These Are The Voyages takes place during. Don't think they show the Pegasus, but they talk about it

The highly exploding ship material is different in both ships.

The XL is a lovely ship, as good as 1/537 scale to match the polar lights Enterprise....but...there should be NO decals on the inside of the nacelles and the registry on the underside of the primary hull has been put on in REVERSE!!, would take a fair bit of work and extra expense to correct....but I still really like it, loved the design since I first saw it, so, lovely to have all these years on, despite the flaws...it's made, painted, etc, cheaper than buying the resin model and spending many hours getting it right. Thanks for the review .

I've seen the complaint about the registry underneath the ship being reversed, and iirc it's a "mistake" on the actual studio model that for some reason only this ship had. There's another model that has a simmilar thing where one of the registry markings is misspelled because the studio model also misspelled it (that one is too accurate though imo). Worth double checking as that might be the other Oberth, but when I look at the ship nothing makes me go "oh that's clearly wrong and it's not an Oberth" which is what's most important in the end to me if total perfection can't be achieved for whatever reason.

@@CaptNSquared it's definitely an Oberth, and lovely to have...I wouldn't swap it...really more of a gripe as eaglemoss are filling up my star trek ships nicely, but the mistakes are awful, seeing as they've done a great job sculpting the models, and the finish is lacking, which is a gripe for many collectors. As always, live long and prosper.
