The Eagles were a different breed, telepathic. We never see anything like this now. We were spoiled by these 3 & the Waco Mystery ship. All legendary!!

Thank you for posting this. I remember when they switched from the Pitts to the Eagle, when I was growing up the Red Devils were ‘it’, but, it didn’t take long for the Eagle to really shine.

I remember the Red Devils. Seen them in the mid 70s. I was maybe 9 or 10 years old.

I remember seeing them that year at Oshkosh. Unknown to me that would be the beginning of a fascination with flying. I would have been about 8 years old at the time, and now 30+ years later have a job flying for an airline.

I used to see these guys every year back in the 80s and 90s, along with Gene Soucy's Ag Cat. Biplanes are so cool.

One of the best formation teams out there and still one of the best looking aerobatic paint schemes on a plane

Tom passed away July 25th this year, Gene Soucy is the only remaining Eagle left now. I watched them when they were flying airshows trying to raise money to get to the aerobatic championships back in the 70s as the Red Devils.

A very singular plane with a three very special pilots inside! The tandem set christen eagle was built more units, but the single set ones, only this three units and a few more was built. This happened Later than the tandem version, and with the spirit of merchandising this model in the air shows and competitions, to be best than Pitts, who was the reference aerobatic airplanes at this moment... A little history very interesting 😎👌👌👌

Nobody does it like the Christian Eagles! I lived in the same neighborhood as Gene growing up. His hanger was at Aero Country Airport in McKinney. I've washed and waxed that bird many times before a show. I even scored a ride in his twin once for payment. He also had his retired Red Devil Pitts there. He's a class act!

One Christen Eagle can put on a show. Three Christen Eagles can put on a spectacle.

One of the reasons I stopped going to airshows is the annoying music and announcers.
