I'm running Saquon behind Jordan, Landon ,Cam, Mekhi and Lane at least 20 to 25 times every Game ..he might average 6 Plus yards per... Who heard baldy say that Becton would be our best run blocker already..😳thats saying a lot with Milatto ,Dickerson and Johnson run blocking on thst O line ..yup definitely the best Offensive line Running back combination in the NFL.. teams are going to have to bring an extra Man in the box plus .. or get bludgeoned and dominated ...LOL there going to have to bring More then just a extra guy down...anyway when they do bring help in the box yo try and slow the run down AJ Brown, Devante Smith, Dallas Goddard all will be running Down Field wide open they basically will see one on one coverage .. this team can be special and do great things

He has only been a starter for 3 years though. Look at most QBs in the NFL their first 3 starting seasons aren't that good. Takes time to develop that and you need consistency to develop. Never having a constant OC hurt Hurts progression in that but to think he just can't read defenses at all is a rookie thing to say.

Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter being WHAT THEY POSSED TO BE would TRANSFORM this DEFENSE. Carter I'm DAMN NEAR 💯 on him ending up being a top 5-7 DT, it's JD I'm concerned with. If you go and really deep dive into JD's physical traits his his height, weight, speed and pro day/ combine numbers, the dudes could debatably be called the most athletic/ physically gifted 320+ LBS player IN NFL HISTORY. Nearly all his numbers he posted are like top 3 EVER for a 320-330+ lbs player. As a result, DUDE NEEDS TO PAN OUT AND DESTROY MF'ERS this season. Come on JD!
@tim4372
@tim4372 Ай бұрын
I feel you! I'm not going to say I have low expectations of JD. But, if he can hold down the middle, I'm good! I not really expecting a lot of sacks from him. All I would like to see JD do is limit the runs up the middle. Hold the other team to one or two yards on first down. On pass downs, I would like to see JD shrink the pocket and not allow the QB to step up in the pocket. I believe if he can disrupt the pocket, he will demand a double team, leaving Jalen Carter one-on-one. This is just my humble opinion!!!!!!

Jalen's issue wasn't just the coaches. It was his dependence on throwing to AJ and Devonta. There were numerous times last season where running backs and tight ends were open right in front of Hurts, but he either was holding on to the ball, looking down field for Brown or Devonta. He also has a bad habit of leaving pocket to quick at times.

I really think Bradberry has been undervalued. In the SB the first time (2022 I think) Bradberry was called for interference inside the goal line. I didn't agree with that call at all. Bradberry looked like he did touch the runner's waist not to interfere but to keep his running balance. It's the past now and makes no difference but I still think he's a great player!

The one hard thing about eagles fans is the revisionist history we get into when a player leaves. We did NOT win the HS trade. He was our best player two years in a row and we should have paid him. Our main edge rushers are a second year player drafted on athletics, josh sweat who disappears down the stretch, BG who should have retired in the off season, and b huff who has one year of decent production with no games started. thats who we decided to give money? our DTs are young and out of shape. our LBs wouldn't start anywhere else in the league and our secondary is two CBs who will be out of the league in two years, 2 rookies, an undrafted safety and a CB who will be on IR by week 5? our defense should be ranked bottom 5 until they prove otherwise.
@iceTristan_
@iceTristan_ Ай бұрын
Fangio has already talked about how much better shape Carter and Davis are in. the CB take isn’t even accurate. you completely left out Rodgers and Ringo in that conversation. we also did win the Haas trade. we got Huff, a 3rd, and more cap used to sign other players for Haas. we got younger and more picks and filled more holes

IF Isiah Rodgers and BOTH Quinyon & Coop pan turn out to be above average - pro bowl level CB's? I didn't put KEELY into this because ALL FOUR panning out to be above average - pro bowl level CB's is VERY UNREALISTIC and in my opinion he's got the HIGHEST likelihood of NOT reaching that level, even though from ALL reports ALL FOUR seem to be panning out, which we're either being duped with happy talk OR we've just struck a once in 30-50 year situation with 4 above average starting CB's. The whole Reed Blankenship definitely starting thing.. I don't understand where or when Q and Coop, you know our top 2 picks are gonna play if Isiah Rodgers and SLAY start and CJGJ AND Reed start. With Avonte Maddox on the roster, UNTIL he gets hurt, in my opinion would be the best CB3. Sooo .. Even if Coop starts at SLOT. IDK I feel like Q and Coop should be starting. Unless Isiah Rodgers looks like f'ing Deon Sanders out there and Reed turns into prime John Lynch out of no where, how much better, due to experience, are they then Q and Coop? I mean look IF Q is the number 1 CB in the ENTIRE DRAFT CLASS.. HOW WOULD HE NOT BE A STARTER?!? UNLESS... HE SUCKS! LOL. SAME thing with Coop, he CAN'T beat out Reed? I see the no rookie no matter who they are is beating out Slay and CJGJ they're pro bowl level players. BUT that leaves 2 starting DB spots with JAGs ( JAG = just a guy ) in them. Quinyon and Coop CAN'T beat out the 2 JAGS? Ok maybe 🧐 Reed's a LIL better than a Jag. MAYBE a JAG+. When drafting either of those guys did the team think they were JAG+' or actually worse if they AREN'T starting over the Jag+ guy. Shyt if all FOUR of Q, Coop, Keely and Isiah ALL pan out to at least above average starting CB's one of not 2 NEED to be traded for a above average LB, DE or DT in that order. Maybe switch the DE and LB priority there because a guaranteed 8-9 sack guy is worth more than a 100 tackle average in coverage kinda above average LB. Ugh I'm all over the place it'd be a GREAT problem to have with 4 above average - pro bowl level CB's to play with. Talkin bout ACTUAL BLANKET COVERAGE. That backend be WARM AND SNUGGLY AS HELL!

Firstly on Cam Jurgens as a replacement. Im not the biggest fan yet I can only hope he works out to be a strength. With that being said, its an interesting point sbout the shove. For me its dependent upon how defenses have caught up (if they have,) to defending the play. A whole offseadon to work through it will be interesting to watch any defensive changes to thwarting the play. Im going to have to agree with the point that even if it is not as effective as it was last season its still a beast play!!! I would be suprised if the fully curtailed the use of it. A few thoughts/points/opinions.. This is the most talented offense Hurts has ever been apart of, Kellen Moore is the best OC Hurts has ever played for, and this is the most talented offense Kellen Moore has ever coached. Once Moore, Hurts, and the offense gain chemistry and experience together they will be the best offense in the league. Saquon running behind this offensive line and having Stout as his run game coordinator is scary and gonna be unreal. I’m happy we finally have a no nonsense old school coach again in Fangio I’m hopeful he will have our defense known to be feared again. Devin White at one point was the best LB in the league and one of the best players in the league. I can’t wait to see Cooper Dejean making plays this year he’s definitely gonna be a fan favorite quickly. And my last point which is very random but people really forget how good Chris Johnson was. Not only great but consistently great. Okay I’m done now GO BIRDS 🦅

Brandon Brooks was a 6'5" 334lbs athletic RG as compared top Cam who at 6'3" struggled to maintain 300lbs. Yes Johnson wasn't totally onboard with an undersized RG next to the undersized 270ish lb center in Kelce. The Eagle focus on adding sized and strength up front should help BOTH the run game and Hurts confortability in that pocket. Trusting those guys up front became an issue last year and protecting a few vets from criticism was an internal issue towards the end of the season. I fully expect in Moores offense to see Hurts to grow more comfortable throwing across the middle as the season goes and a heavy involvement of the TE1 & WR3 seeing more touches.

This is why Kellen Moore is working with Hurts and asking which plays he likes. You can be very expansive with a QBs strengths if you’re a good coach. Quick throws, roll outs, play action, R/P option, draw all work in Jalen’s style of play, but when you’re 3rd receivers (Quez, Julio, and whoever else) aren’t even giving you 300 yds in 17 games with drops, bad routes and not getting open, it’s easy to blame hurts, and btw…. Last yrs offense didn’t have many check down plays.

The defense was bad on the back end which makes things hard up front combined with a bad defensive coordinator things fell apart down the stretch during probably the toughest stretch of games of any teams schedule last year. With Roseman addressing the weaknesses of the roster on defense and bringing in a veteran coordinator the defense should be a different animal this season. Along with a new coordinator on offense and bringing in Barkley the offense should be a juggernaut. The horrible play calling with no motion or creativity last year was a huge part of the struggle and will not be a factor this season and the Eagles should be in the hunt for a championship. 12 or 13 wins is definitely achievable and this team is prime for a deep run

People can twist the words all they want, but make no mistake, this means Hurts struggles to read defenses, so Eagles coaches tried to limit the amount of reads he has to make. A few years ago, when the Tampa coach was saying, “he can’t read”, this is what he meant. I hate that this is true… but unfortunately it is. He can still be successful but there’s a ceiling. I’m beginning to think that Saquon may be a bigger part of the game plan than what’s being reported.

I agree with the analysis by Corsell on Jalen and it’s why I’ve always been a “hater”. QBs who rely on their run ability/raw athleticism have a useful life of about 5 years. You can’t just rely on that forever as a QB. At some point, your IQ and ability to dissect defenses has to take over (Brady, Manning, pretty much any qb who had long term success). I hope Jalen can fill in the holes, but until then, this all star roster will continue carrying him (and his raw athleticism for now while he still has it)

The brotherly shove will still be in the playbook but with a dynamic RB like Barkley they just will not need to run it as much . No point in over doing it and putting Hurts in harms Way More than necessary

Becton has only played 2 seasons in 4 years and he was top 10 in both penalties and sacks allowed in both seasons. He wasnt even top 20 in snaps in either season. 2023 was 1st in sacks allowed and 2nd in penalties. 2020 was 5th in sacks allowed and 7th in penalties. Have fun with him

Also they shouldn’t stop the rush push 😂😂😂 a TD is a damn TD. A first down is a damn first down especially with these humongous guards in Becton and Dickerson

It's a rugby move. Why would you think kelce was the important piece in the tush push? Mialata is more important. He played rugby

Yeah.... As a fan of a team I WOULD NOT want the hard knocks stuff on MY team. It's never a net positive. Sure there's times it doesn't cause an issue. However, when your outcomes are neutral or negative. That's NOT a good set of options.

Cant see why u would get away from the shove unless its failing. It worked well for brady in NE. It worked well for us.

He's like Montana .. Bill Walsh took like 5 seasons so Montana could learn to read the entire field, so if going slow makes you that great, by all means take your time Hurts... I can't wait for this season to start... Offense and Defense are going to surprise so many ppl.... Let's go BIRDS

I hope Jalen can fill in the holes, but until then, this all star roster will continue carrying him

It's kinda like the offense this year in that the coaching has changed so players need to buy in and play well in the system. Last year the defense looked awful and couldn't come together.

If it is absolutely true that Hurts is not a "full-field reader," we won't be able to make it to the mountain top. Even the worse D-Coor will be able to lock us up.

Eagles team is stacked with talent. Weak points are still defense, qb limitations and coaching. If things roll right and stay healthy, they could be playing the Chiefs in the SB again.
The NFL should be TERRIFIED by what the Eagles just pulled off...
