Fascinating match-up between KC's more sophisticated, complex schemes and the Eagles' awesome roster. It's not just Mahomes against the Eagles. Andy Reid, Spags, Taub & Nagy will cook up new things they haven't shown all year, then spring these surprises on the Eagles at key moments. KC will not miss as many tackles as Washington, and with Watson back at CB, expect KC to take a lot of chances to slow down (not stop) the Eagle run game. The outcome might be decided by Jalen Hurts vs Watson & McDuffie in man coverage without safety help.

So Fangio, with the most talented defensive roster he's ever had, won't think up surprises for the Chiefs? I'm sorry, hasn't Fangio been coaching since Reagan was in office? I know you all think Mahomes and Reid kill Fangio, but your team was way more explosive then, and Fangio didn't have this kind of talent to work with. In terms of offense, sure, I guess you'll cook some stuff up, but the Eagles o-line is formidable, especially with Barkley in the backfield. Clever coaching ain't winning this thing. It will come down to the players on the field. It will come down to whether Hurts can play mistake free football. Mahomes will do his thing. One turnover beat the Eagles last time, and that team wasn't as talented as this team.

The Niners have just a guy at QB. Hurts has a chance to show he's not just another guy. Not sure if he will, but that has been the difference between the Chiefs and Niners. It will come down to whether or not Jalen Hurts be as good as a certain segment of Eagles fans believe him to be. Why are the Eagles better now? The only thing I'm hearing is Barkley. Why are the Chiefs worse now? Their record is better. The offense isn't #1 now? It's still very good, the regular season Chiefs offense isn't the postseason offense which is scoring 27.5 ppg, about 5 points better than the regular season. The defense is way better than it was then. Its 4th in points despite a 38-0 week 18 game with backups. They would be 2nd otherwise just like last season.

They were obvious betting favorites vs the Rams and Commanders but analysts picked against them. Against Patrick, the Eagles lost a SB 38-35; the Eagles could have easily won that game. Last year, the Eagles straight up beat the Chiefs. This Eagles team is better than last years team. So, yes, why isn't the more talented team that played the Chiefs almost evenly in the Superbowl and beat them the next regular season not given a chance.

Two years ago Hurts went to the Super Bowl in his first full season as starter and outplayed Mahomes in that game. It wasn't close. He left the field with 35 points and the lead. Jonathan Gannon, who spent his time during the bye assembling his staff as the new HC in Arizona, coached scared the entire second half and gave up 5 scores and a 10 point lead at the half, eventually losing the game on a ticky-tack DPI call. This time it won't be nearly that close. Gannon's gone, Fangio doesn't coach scared, this year's defense is way better than the 2022 unit, and Saquon. Go ahead, try to stop him. You'd be the first in 21 games and the more you try, the better it is for our passing game. The Eagles have a score to settle and a job to finish. I believe they will.

The outplayed Mahomes narrative is fake news. Mahomes played nearly a perfect game. Bradbury held Juju and he admitted it. It was actually twice in 1 play, so definitely not ticky tack. If Bradbury had gotten called for hook turning Juju 180 degrees in the first half, or if Bolton's 2nd scoop and score would've been upheld as it should've been, KC wins going away. Jalen fumbled. He also needed his WRs to moss guys multiple times because he threw deep to them when they were covered. Goddert was gifted a highly controversial long sideline catch also. The Eagles got all the breaks and still lost, whilst complaining about turf that both teams played on. Butker even missed a FG and he's usually money. Last time Philly was the #1 def and had 70 sacks. This time still #1 def but not a dominant pass rush. The Chiefs don't allow any RBs to thrive when they are the focal point. Barkley will not win this game. Just ask Henry. Jalen will have to beat them and he might not get as many great catches this time around because that aspect was highly underrated after the game last time. KC has more weapons than last time also. They have the same coaching staff for 5 years. Good luck beating that.

I am pretty convinced the NFL wants the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Why? An International audience. When Michael Jordan was playing people in other countries knew who he was. Same thing with Mahomes. But I’m guessing international “eyeballs” are higher when a known commodity is in the Super Bowl. It’s a good theory I think. (How do I know this? I’ve travelled to 15 to 20 other countries. Europe. South America. Everywhere in North America of course. And when you go through airports you see posters of US players but only the well-known ones. On a similar subject I was in Madeira and Christiano Ronaldo posters were everywhere although I think he was born there as he’s Portuguese. When Hurts does that, like he did in Washington, he makes the Eagles pretty much impossible to stop. Spags is not stopping the Eagles, and I don't think the Eagles are stopping Mahomes. The NFL has pretty much made the rules to make sure defense is always playing with one arm tied behind their backs. Ultimately, the Eagles have the better players, man for man. The only place where the Chiefs have the advantage is quarterback. Therefore, if Hurts actually plays well and doesn't turn it over, the Chiefs will have a hard time winning because, whether Chiefs fans want to admit it or not, they win through keeping the game close and waiting for the other team to crack under pressure. In today's water-downed NFL, that works. Brady and the Pats won that way fro years. It's why they keep beating the Bills for example. However, if a team doesn't crack, if the other QB plays as well as Mahomes, then that's when they get into a bit of trouble because they simply do not have the talent to beat a more talented team. It's all up to Hurts. Just like Nick Foles did in 2017, play calm, don't press, and use your superior team talent to stay toe to toe with a legend. If he does that, the Eagles are winning. If he doesn't, the Chiefs are winning. It's pretty much that simple.
