We all miss Buddy Ball!! The most exciting & interesting era in Philly football ever!!

Buddy ball was 0 3 in the playoffs.

@@johndolejsch5102 that’s true, however prior to Buddy, the Eagles were a joke and the welcome mat for the NFC East. He brought them back to respectability and a take no prisoners attitude that coincided and resonated with the culture of Philadelphia.

It must have been scary when Jerome brown came after you

Had this team not loss Jerome Brown, they were headed towards being the greatest team in NFL history. But once the D-lineman died in that automobile accident it literally killed off any momentum that this team had, Jerome Brown, was Reggie White's equal.

As an Eagles fan and someone who was in on this team personally, I wish I could agree with you on your post. Did you ever see that Offensive Line? It was C at best. There was a reason why Randall was scrambling. Half the time, he was running for his life.

@@daveatkins3796 Then that's the only area where they were weak.
@daveatkins3796 Жыл бұрын
@@clifforddriver9434 That unit was terrible. Was a C on a good day. Buddy Ryan couldn’t fix it, Kotite couldn’t fix it, Rhodes couldn’t fix it, it wasn’t up until Reid finally got a line good enough to keep QBs from getting pile driven halfway to China and get the running game going. Usually, when you make a deep run in the playoffs, you have a very strong Offense Line that allows the offense to function. Look at how much better Randall played when he was with Minnesota and he had a high quality Offensive Line. He was able to sit back and fire passes to Carter, Reed and Moss with no problems and made holes for his running game.

@@daveatkins3796 Andy Reid had everything accept a quarterback, McNabb had no man in him. Look at the stallion he's working with now. The league is getting ready to get real nasty at the quarterback position, especially in the next two years, every team will be working with one that they could possibly win with, including the Cowboys.
@daveatkins3796 Жыл бұрын
@@clifforddriver9434 McNabb was no where near a Brady or Peyton caliber, but he was a decent QB to have. Considering he was the best QB to come out of that crappy 1999 draft. That list consisted of Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Dante Culpepper and Cade McNown. And the list of QBs the Eagles had at the time were the Detmers (Ty and Koy), Bobby Hoying and Doug Peterson (great coach, horrible QB). You wanted any of those guys other than McNabb? By far and away, McNabb was the best choice out of this bunch. Yes, Mahomes is the best QB in the post Brady world. No doubt. And regardless of how you feel personally about him, there’s no denying that he was instrumental in bringing the Eagles out of the basement and into the playoffs on a fairly consistent basis.

Strange quirky schedule in 87 that saw the Eagles play 4 of their last 5 games all against the AFC EAST who was the out of conference division the NFC EAST played in 87.

This was a good Eagles team who i think could've squeaked into the playoffs that year, if it wasn't for the strike. The Eagles went 0-3 when the scab players were playing. One of those losses was to the Cowboys, as we saw what happened when the real Eagles team played them a few weeks later
