Idols are human beings too. I think we are just used to seeing the perfect versions of them so when a "jae" appears it is so shocking to us. A good chunk of the idols we love are problematic in some way. I feel like their contracts and manufactured personas comfort us, the viewers, so seeing them outside that buuble might make us say things like "I miss the jae of day6 not eaj". But they are one and the same. Eaj is jae and many of the idols we love have their own eajs we don't get to see. I'm just here to vibe and enjoy the music K-pop has to offer without investing too much into the personas they show the public. I feel better that way Edit: check out his new comeback. He just made a mistake and is getting backlash from it. I was just talking about the people who seemed shocked that an idol couldn't behave like this and those who were separating jae from eaj. I just hope jae reflects on himself and understands that even if he isn't in the industry, he is still in the public eye and he has fans invested in the kpop industry. Jae didn't put ads on all his video really shows that doing youtube and music is what he reallly enjoy and wanted to do. Jae also said on an interview that he will be a KZbinr if he wasn't in day6 . I really dont understand why the stupid company say he is bringing bad image to the company and asked him to stop his channel.....but i believe that every Myday loves him doing this very very much. Sorry for long reply. Just share some of my thought from the other side. Now Jae discussed & i think everything is on right track ----------------------- From my point of view - as a "old" Myday & a fan of Jae from Kpop star 2, we all know that Jae is talented. He'd already done a lot for his private youtube channel. However Jae is really active in his solo activities (much much... than other members). I'm not meaning that Jae is more talented or hate / don't like group activities. As an Asia culture, we highly appreciate teamwork, team activities. If 1 member have much more solo activities than others, it will bring rumors, distance between groups. As you know how "ugly / negative" thoughts of a part of K-net. They will talk bad about everything: discrimination treatment, punishment for xyz, abc got better treatment because of @&$#. And if 1 member got much more attention than other (also solo activities), there always bring a distance. Maybe other member will sad, downmood, self-concerning about why they didn't like that, they think they are burden of group..... And day by day, members will be awkward with each other. (Just a sample Suzy & other MissA member - sorry for cameo) Nowaday lesson-learn from history, JYPE focus on build group activities, group-bond. They rarely accept solo activities although they got a lot of "love-calls" for ads, commercial (example: Twice, Got7, straykids....) Hence, i somehow understood about why JYPE request Jae to stop his channel. On the other hand, for Jae private channel they can not control about the content & also about its profit / loss. JYPE is a listed company. And it needs to be transparent for everything with all investors. If JYPE promotes private channel, how they show it on their PnL
