The reason he uses his finger to “smile” results from the lyrics: “I have never laughed even for a moment”. That “forced” laugh adds so many dimentions to the song and the mental state he is in imo. Once again amazing analysis, thank you so much!

I am absolutely in love with the video format you have here, it is really in depth and you do analysis on the lyrics even for a foreign language! This song is more like a play imo, it's a visual and emotional show as much as it is a song, i love this performance it always gives me shivers. Being located in middle east, Turkish music uses inbetween notes compared to western scales, so some parts may sound a bit off depending on whixh scale you are used to, i hope it doesn't bother you as it adds further complexity to enjoy and more possibilities as well. Thanks for analyzing Turkish music, if you are taking recommendations i absolutely recommend Mor ve Ötesi, they are a great band.

Since there's no English translation here, I want to share this magnificent song's translation. She looked at me, she saw me She checked me out, she approached me And this means...and this means What did it mean, what did it mean? I asked the question, what did I ask her, I asked the question Did you look at me, did you see me? Did you check me out? Held my hand Approached me, broke my back, heard me Look, look at yourself, turned into ashes, melted Did she look at me, did she see me Did she see this, did she love me Did she kiss me, did she ask me, grabbed my hand Oh, Oh my situation , would be good if I were to be sure Was there someone, did she see me Asked the question, did she ask a question Did she ask a question, did she ask me Oh, Oh my situation You are, my words are to you I became your slave, I became your poodle, did someone see my state? Did someone shoot, did someone break my balance? Look at my condition, I have smiled even for a second Stop me for once, stop me for once Stop my tongue... stop my voice, a doctor for me See my condition, look at my brain Was it lived... I couldn't know

aslında kız manasında söylemiyor orda yani she kalıbı hükümsüz kalır. burda hayko bana bi baktı derken 2. yanından bahsediyor. / in fact, it doesn't mean girl there, so the pattern she is invalid. Here, when Hayko says he looked at me, he is talking about his second side.

Love Hayko, love this video of yours. Since there is no one correct translation, I would like to share my interpretation. I tried to convey the meaning despite these two things about the Turkish language: 1) There is only one genderless pronoun. 2) There is a question particle and it changes the focus of the question depending on where it goes in the sentence. [Voiceover] All that is going on, you are the meaning of it all. The beginning that you don't know the reason to, you will also see its ending that has no reason. If you can realize without you or me realizing, then the only thing you shall enjoy is _time._ Time: a countdown. [Verse 1] _[addressed to a third person]_ Took a look at me Saw me for once Laid eyes on me for once Drew near me And the meaning of this is... And the meaning of this is... What was the meaning of this? What was the meaning of this? I asked the question What was it that I asked? I asked the question [Verse 2] You! Did you look at _me?_ Did you see _me?_ Did you lay eyes on _me?_ Held my hand Came near me Broke my back Heard my voice Look, look at what you've become You turned into ashes, right, melted? _[back to addressing a third person]_ Looked at _me?_ Saw _me?_ Saw _this?_ Loved _me?_ Kissed _me?_ Asked _me?_ Grabbed my hand Well, damn, what I've become If only I could be sure [Bridge] Was there _someone?_ Did _someone_ see? Asked the question Asked _a question?_ Asked _a question?_ Asked _me_ a question? Well, damn, what I've become It's you! My words are for you! [Verse 3] I've been at your beck and call! Did _someone_ see what I've become? Did _someone_ hit me? Did _someone_ break this balance of mine? Look at what I've become! Never for a moment have I smiled Stop me for once! Stop me for once! Stop my tongue! GRAAAAH! Stop my voice Need a doctor See what I've become Look into my brain I can't tell if it all really happened...

I will try to explain but it may be wrong because of google translate. Actually, Hayko's stage show is about people with paranoia. In other words, what he is doing is actually making the paranoid feelings pass to the audience. The song title is paranoia. In his stage shows, even if you don't understand the song, you can guess by watching it. Hayko is a very good singer as well as a very good actor. He even plays in a musical now. His name is Jekyll and Hyde

Man! This is not a reaction. This is a proper, greatly done analysis. Best I've seen so far. Hayko is an interesting personality himself. At first sight, I was thinking he was nuts. His songs almost always feel like about a poor guy who is truly angry, I mean in a psychological problem level angry, at everything, but trying all his best to hide it. But somehow, somewhere in the songs, he cannot hold it and it just comes out. I'm saying this because Hayko is using the singing styles from traditional Turkish music. Some of the most tranquil ones, classical turkish music. I can even say that at places, his singing reminds me of religious songs, the sufi music... and the sylz of masters like "Kani Karaca". This is why I feel like "he's trying to hide" a very deep anger, by using the most tranquil styles :) But when I watched his interviews, I found out that the guy is lively, fun, and a true gentlemen. So what he does on stage is not his personality, but a stage character. But... who knows :) There might still be this crazy man inside :) God, this has been long. But I LOVED your analysis. So, sorry for the length of the comment. Here's a gift for you: a clip from a comedy show, where Hayko supposedly joins a traditional Turkish music chorus to "healé his weird style, but still cannot fully recover :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmTVonyNjbqKmdE And here's a "sufi song" from Hayko: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGrEeqBnrcqckK8
@fatihcam13 Жыл бұрын
And then, there's this, if you haven't watched already: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h52rc5KXbbxjrtU Hayko being the crazy Hayko at the beginning, and the sufi singer Hayko on the second half. A true summary of his style.
