I have lived in Lebanon for decades. Some older people told me that the most powerful merchants in Lebanon were the the Lebanese Jews ( before the civil war started in 1975 and they migrated to Israel or somewhere else. ) They have a strategy of being very calculative and visionary. They sell the same products for less but they re-use, as an example the sacs to store flour and wheat to save money so they can have competitive prices as traders...

You can't carry much property on your back, but you can carry knowledge. Knowledge is something no one can take away from you. I once saw an obviously Orthodox fellow shopping at a Walmart. I asked him: "Is it customary that Orthodox Jewish fathers make sure their kids- especially the sons- learn the Book Of Proverbs?" He said "Yes." THAT is one of the primary reasons the Jews are probably the most financially successful of all the various ethnic groups in America. They make sure their kids are taught how to think correctly. That's a fundamental component of what wisdom is.

I read a book a few years ago called The Jewish Phenomena. It was quite insightful. One of the things I loved most is how they teach their children to focus on the things they love and are good at for a profession. If their child is creative, then they they focus on music, or film, or whatever suits them. If they're good with money, they focus on finance. If they love science, they become doctors or scientists. Etc. They don't force their children to learn a thousand different useless things; it only causes confusion. Which is why a lot of children have no idea what they want to do when they grow up. They have no direction. Love this video!

Building wealth involves developing good habits like regularly putting money away in intervals for solid investments. Financial management is a crucial topic that most tend to shy away from, and ends up haunting them in the near future. Putting our time and effort in activities and investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for. Success depends on the actions or steps you take to achieve it. "You're not going to remember those expensive shoes you bought ten years ago, but you will remember every single morning when you look at your bank account that extra 0 in there. I promise, that's going to be way more fun to look at everyday", I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life too 🙏🙏🙏

As a Jew I would like to add: Not all Jews are rich. My family left Germany somewhere around word war 1, and settled in England. My grate grandparents, invested all their money in a small motel, on a beach. They sold it later on, an invested as much as possible in my grandparents education. Later my grandpa became a dentist. Ny grandma a math teacher. He worked very hard, and made sure his children had a proper education too. Both my dad and his sibling, put all their time into learning, and received a free cambridge scholarship. Meanwhile, my grandparents moved to London, and bought a house. Over the years, the value of the house went up by hundreds of percent. With lots of family help, and inheritance, my grandparents bought three apartments, that also went up a lot in value. Now they rent them cheaply for students. My family always valued hard work, and good education. They were always very careful with money. I believe that's the secret of success.

I'm Jewish; not wealthy - but not poor either, thanks to the values my parents taught me. First, they taught me not to max out my credit card! It happened once, in my early twenties. My dad paid it off (it was only about $2000) and I learned never to pay a cent in credit card interest again by keeping track of my income and spending. (I've been using Quicken for that. It really helps.) Second, my parents were store owners; so I learned to think like an entrepreneur early on. I worked in their store and learned how to deal with customers, etc. As an adult I only worked for someone else for 7 years; then took that knowledge (plus my own skills) and started a home-based business. That allowed me "not to put my eggs in one basket". Having many clients instead of one employer protected me from unemployment. Finally; I learned early on the basics of investment and saved for retirement. That let me semi-retire at age 50 instead of age 65.

So I have dated a few Jewish guys and while not all Jewish people are the same, I did notice a very very different concept of money for them vs me. This might have just been the men I dated but what I noticed was that things were 50/50 unless it came to money. For example, we agreed to share food/grocery responsibilities. So on my nights, I would go to the grocery store and stock up the refrigerator with food, and make use food. Came out to be about half as expensive as going out to eat. I would pay for the groceries, do the cooking, and the dishes on my nights. One of the guys hated cooking so on his nights, he would order us food, the only thing was, he would request 50% of the bill via Venmo. The other guy would buy groceries, wasn't good at cooking, and I did the dishes. He too would ask that I pay for 50% of the grocery bill. From both of their perspective, that was fair because they looked at their bank accounts and saw the cost of the food and say it was feeding two months so 50/50. But neither of them understood that in the grand scheme of things, my 50% was being repaid to them via the times I bought and cooked the food on my nights. It was really strange and happened other times with things other than food. For me, money is important but it's not the central mechanism of my day to day life. If I am dating someone, I want them feed, happy, and emotionally supported. Money is a means to an end and my focus is on the end (food, shelter, mental and physical health). I can't speak for the antisemits out there but I know from my perspective, their behavior felt selfish and misguided. Not sure if it was because of their jewish upbringing/teachings or if it was just them being them. Wouldn't say I am opposed to dating a Jewish guy again but it is definitely one of the things I discuss at the beginning of any potential relationship. What is your relationship with money and what are your thoughts on managing it? But I ask it of all potential long term relationships but it wasn't something I had on my radar until after I learned the lesson from two Jewish guys. I'm curious, has anyone else had this experience or perhaps the opposite?

The thing about cultures, is that it isn’t just clothing, hair style and music, that’s ridiculous, culture is a very deep aspect of a group that identifies its members to itself. Certain common perspectives among a groups members can be considered part of the culture. I grew up with Jews, all successful, all I met have a similar a perspective that is in no way a loser perspective like what I grew up in. They don’t mind working hard or spending time on something. They also have excellent reasoning skills. Good for them.

@Mr Logic That is pretty racist. To think one race is superior to the other. You know what happened in the Nazi-Times. Hitler thought Arians are superior, that caused a damn terrible genocide. You know what the Israeli government does to people in Palestine? A damn genocide because they think they are superior. If Jewish people were truly superior, there would not be any Jews who rape and kill innocents. Your logic fails. Humans are all equal. And why would it make sense for God to create a superior and inferior group even though they all have feelings, emotions, dreams... That would be pure cruelty.

My own talents lied in the area of finances and investments.. What I read concerning the smartness of Jews is that the brightest people in the Jewish communities are the rabbis who have their choice of the best women in town and have a lot of children. The brightest people in Christendom were usually monks or priests who did not pass on their culture or genes.
@Star-qh5wp2 жыл бұрын
Rabbis don’t have the best women in town. Usually a rabbi will marry a girl from a rabbinical family as well. But majority of women aren’t considered from rabbinical families although we all can go back and find many rabbis in our family tree. Majority of Jewish women are very committed and idealistic girls who want to be there for their kids and families. So I believe that having a present loving mom in the house invested in raising well socialized and mannered children is a huge plus. The kids know they are cherished and loved and cared for but are expected to be respectful and are constantly encouraged to do thier very best in every regard
@Star-qh5wp2 жыл бұрын

As a (retired) underclass member of a multicultural Merseyside community in the UK, and myself from an Irish immigrant family, I see my Jewish, Muslim and Indian neighbours and friends all seem to have done equally well financially, and from my personal perspective, while my last 3 employers over the last 30 years have been 2 Jews and 1 Muslim, the vast majority of my colleagues have been white, Anglo Irish, East European, Slavic, or black African. The Jewish family who employed me had, both the men and their wives, had started out with manual labour, worked hard, and built their business; one of the Muslims who gave me employment had built a huge security company from a small business buying and selling trinkets as a boy. As a single parent, I was, often over the years, unquestioningly given credit and a helping hand by our local Indian shop owner. I raised 5 children, by myself since 1985, and retired in June of this year with savings of £600. I never had the flair for business, but did have a solid work ethic. One of my best mates is a Pakistani, who worked with me and also has a simple life, but, his sons appear to be able to materialise vast amounts of wealth from thin air 😂💚

Not trying to play the victim card but just FYI Also Onaah in that context is generally translated as overcharging rather than oppression although the root is similar to as you said

Not that massive, Israel's annual income is x100 times higher than the annual US support - which is more of an investment if to be precise.

The aid money goes mostly to US military factories and end up in the pockets of US citizens. Where is your protest for wasting Billions to protect the Japanese/Korean/Europeans or any complain for wasting Trillions of $ on Afghanistan with nothing to show for?
