Charrara didn't play well enough to earn his spot just like what would happen on the PGA Tour. As far as the majors, you play well enough and you get an invite like Neiman has over the last couple years. Sour grapes from him after not playing well enough.
@kennethmckinney253220 күн бұрын
Yep. Pretty simple. Somehow Niemann, Puig and others are trying their asses off to get in majors. Good play takes care of everything
@MultiRastaman320 күн бұрын
So that just absolves LIV of LYING to their players about ‘oh yeah you’ll get World Ranking points?’ I notice how you just conveniently didn’t mention that. Not to mention Chacarra won on the tour and yet all these other bums like Phil or Bubba Watson who have been putrid the entire time they’ve been on LIV get to keep their spots? It’s a sham of a league and you comparing it even remotely to the PGA Tour is asinine.

Imagine that....here's the thing everyone misses. Greg Norman tried his 40 years ago, that's not new. What makes it new though is Greg Norman has become the Great White Shark of the business world since then. He didn't have the massive company he has now when he tried this 40 years ago. Greg essentially took his deal making skills he acquired along the way and hoodwinked these players to get what he wanted. He or someone in his orbit outright lied to the players or implied what they was going to happen. In all reality does anyone believe that the likes of Phil Mickelson, DJ, Brooks, Bryson, Rahm, Sergio would really be playing on a tour without OWGR points? Serious question. Nope. Nobody had that on their bingo card. Yet here we are. I'm sure Rahm was meant to believe that the deal was imminent with the PGA Tour yet here we are. Still no deal.

the point is that PIF/Saudis have been allowed to be involved in other sports. PGA Tour not only have tried to prevent them being involved but they've consistently tried to stop LIV functioning as an effective tour. Why shouldn't they have ranking points? The stupid part is that the PGA Tour will ultimately let PIF be involved in funding it.
@industrialpalletworx354820 күн бұрын
@@jcd-kh7rn clearly you don't know what the requirements are for OWGR points. It has to be a 72 hole tournament minimum with a cut. I don't think there's a field size minimum. LIV wants nothing to do with that. If you don't meet the minimum requirements you don't get points. Simple. Secondly, the PGA Tour is a private entity. Meaning they can tell whomever they want that may or may not want to invest to go get effed. If you wanted to buy into McDonalds or whatever where you live and they said no. You wouldn't like it but you would have to accept it. It's the same thing. I have no problems with having LIV. I don't like there closed off stance and I don't like the no cut. The other argument to be made is if LIV would have gotten OWGR points then the Champions Tour should get points to (54 holes no cut). In my opinion if LIV went to 72 holes and a cut they would have no trouble getting more players to make the jump. Plus add in a more realistic means to qualify and they would be golden. As it is now you either are playing for top money with them or the Asian tour where you're barely making more then mini tour events. There's no in between.
@jcd-kh7rn19 күн бұрын
@ no I'm just not gullible enough to believe everything I'm told by US networks who rely on the PGA Tour and who it suits to have everything based in the US. The PGA Tour is one of the adjudicators on who gets ranking points and the likes of the DPWT are heavily reliant on them. The PGA Tour is quite happy to hold events with no cut with a reduced field and a large number of ranking points on offer. My point about allowing PIF to enter golf wasn't necessarily that they had to have ownership of the PGA Tour. In tennis they sponsor rankings, Next Gen etc. However, it looks as though PIF may well end up with being investors and on the board of the PGA Tour anyway.
@industrialpalletworx354819 күн бұрын
@jcd-kh7rn you can call it gullible all you want but the minimum standard is the minimum standard. Like it or not it is what it is. LIV doesn’t meet the threshold plain and simple. So they players were scammed.

Yet, so far 2 of the players said they were promised OGWR points. LIV was desperate to attract as many high quality, or up and coming players, as they could, so they'd promise them the moon if they could. And after the first big names left, it was quite obvious to everyone that followed them that they would not be able to play either Tour anymore.

Except that with LIV, unlike the PGA Tour, there is no way to earn your 'card' back. That sounds pretty closed to me. Every pro tour has a qualifying process (even Korn Ferry) where you have to earn your way onto that tour -- not the offering of a contract with a signing bonus that is solely based on the preference of a few LIV honchos. Their only survival chance is to pluck as many top players off of other tours by offering them all of the money up front on a signing bonus, and lying to them about benefits. That is one ugly way to run a 'tour'.
@industrialpalletworx354820 күн бұрын
@@MoMoMyPup10 100% accurate. Look at LIVs lineup. I counted 18 players that are has beens or are on the back end of their career and faced a tough hill to climb on the PGA Tour. Then you have 5-10 depending on who you include that were superstars on the PGA Tour. The rest of their lineup is a who is who at your local convenience store. I've followed golf for over 40 years and couldn't pick them out of a lineup if I had to. I don't think you will see any real big names rolling on over to LIV any time soon now any way. I think it's pretty much settled and the dust will fall where it falls. The Ryder cup will be interesting to see how the LIV guys make their way over.
