PLEASE! A cabin tour, like a van tour! There were so many projects I loved and could relate to (having a cabin on a lake in Colorado) and I got great ideas such as the cargo net and the floating dock. Thank you for doing this, and keeping with it regardless of the loss and challenges you faced this year. Big ❤❤

Having the cash to pour into main residence reno/upgrade instead of a secondary vacay house (where responsibility for such is never just on one couple and no one wants to spend their precious vacation time doing chores and building) are two very different things. If Eamon & Bec flip this as a party house (which seems to be their intention), refilling the upstairs with beds and luggage racks is certainly the way to go. If it’s to be a vacation rental and a home base, building a canoe/kayak rack down at the water AND up at the garage (under the deck?) is a good idea, but so would be furnishing the enclosed patio and building a safe rack storage for the winter window covering plexiglas.

For future use: Newsprint only tears straight in one direction. Gosh, tapered trim needs mitered corners. You guys need to know a cabinet maker to show you little tricks. Build a stand minus about an 1/8" to fit under your hood. Nothing extravagant: maybe a 2x4 with another forming a T, with 4 screws to keep it from twisting, or knee braces if you wish for stronger. If mounting on sheet rock, screw in an alignment board below the cabinets to be mounted and sit the cabinets on them while screwing in. this makes it much easier for the one holding them to the wall to not have to hold them up too, while screwing them in. Then remove the alignment boards. There is another trick involving a tapered board towards the wall, then make a matching on on top of the cabinet. It stays permanently in place. I've hung hundreds of cabinets this way.

Once your grouting has dried then wash it. Then once completely dry and you find a film of chalky residue wash it down with water plus vinegar. Vinegar removes chalk. To keep clean for longer wash with car wax. It prevents the grouts from getting nasty.

@pageroo96443 жыл бұрын
I don't believe a wedding will ever happen because they have become comfortable with just living day by day together and acting married already. A paper might solidify things "government wise", but the commitment, love and support system are already in their relationship acumen. :)
@katehopkinsbrent55733 жыл бұрын
I SO agree Page... it’s a piece of paper. Some try to pull the ‘but you should have the union blessed by GOD’ WELL- I study scripture AND 1) I do NOT like that men had X number of wives and twice as many concubines &2) scripture says when the man took the women into his tent and went into her- they became one - LOVE is a blessing from GOD I think. If you’re able to find a love that’s solid and loyal... WHAT else is there in life? ( besides renovations 😁😄😂). Love these two TO THE STARS AND BEYOND ♥️ Where’s the dog? Anyone know ? 🐾😪
@ang_1313 жыл бұрын
@@pageroo9644, a wedding is often just an excuse to have a party. With the cabin finished they could host a small get together for friends and family, enjoy the fruits of their labour, and while they have their loved ones gathered, maybe just get married. :) Would be fun if they just surprised people.
@cd22903 жыл бұрын
@@katehopkinsbrent5573 depending on where you are there may be some legal rights and financial benefits to being legally married. I’m not sure about Canada, but in the US there’s different tax rates, the ability to use family medical insurance and legal rights for both critical medical decisions and inheritance. Lots of different laws in different places and of course there are legal ways to work around some of these too. I’m just pointing out that there may be some beneficial reasons, beyond the suggested celebration, to consider the “piece of paper”. But it’s totally up to them and what they want to do. In the US, there is also a common law marriage where if you are in the same legal residence for 7 years you can also be considered married in the legal sense.
@carolanoneill35473 жыл бұрын
Not to be a Debbie downer but heaven forbid there is any estate issues in the future without the benefit of a authentic marriage. If there is ever an instance of needed medical care, there may be issues with next of kin authorizations if you do not declare spousal affinity. Canada may be a lot more progressive in that instance than the good ole USA. Also in the US, there are some states that do not recognize 'common law' marriages. Missouri is one of them.

I will miss the cabin renovation series. Your journey from looking at potential properties to a finished cabin. It is so bittersweet. You both need a well deserved break from it all. Looking forward to seeing you guys every Sunday and your new adventures together. I would love to see you guys renovate and flip some properties in the area.

Cabin looks great For the window edging use 45deg cuts to join the 90deg angles then you could still use the beveled Trim. For the Pine aged look you could use black tea as a stain the tannin usually does a good job. Enjoy the finalising of the massive project...

You two have accomplished SO much. Looking back at where you started with the cabin, HUGE transformation. You should be proud of yourselves:)

Should have mitred the trim around the window 45° :)

You two have done an amazing job. The biggest improvement has got to be the windows. Loved that you introduced us to Tim - he just makes me laugh. Eamon and him together are such a team.

Reverse the left and right trim around the kitchen window. Have the thinner edge on the inside it’ll look much better ❤️

Exactly what Eamon said. The white grout makes the tile leas stop sign. Also one of our favorite videos. Loved Eamonn’s deodorant add.

Ok, I know I tune in for you guys, not actually for the construction, but please give us another cabin tour with before and after shots! That beautiful hanging seat appeared without any fan fair and I wonder if there are other things that we missed, like maybe a hammock down by the dock! You have turned that cabin into the most wonderful retreat!

Hate to spoil your mood - but a house/cabin is never done. I say next year you'll start to do some rework or work on things you've "forgotten" or "we'll do this later". At my home I fixed the last "we'll to this later" after 20 years. And during these 20 years a lot of other modifications and renovation was done ;-) Good work you two.
