I actually think it’s quite sad that such an iconic studio which has seen so many great musicians isn’t looked after, it should be preserved as a piece of history to reggae music, has anything been done to it presently

Yes one of the very few groups, not to have gone thru breakups or revised lineups. Sticking to the Rasta ideal of the unity & togetherness, they've remained together since the group's inception in 69. Jah! Bless.....

KKLL THE CONUERING RULER, I respect your words. even more if as you say you are only 14 years of age. Because you speak from the heart about the music of Jamaica which Bob and many others helped to place Jamaica firmly on the map in this wicked world Yes, this recording studio should return to its former glory, if not as before, then digitalized and the JA government should get involved and invest it the youth of JA's future. Just look at the new wave of reggae artists 8 Proteje, Chronix, Tarrus Rilley...etc...) and musicians coming out of Jamaica to see that grassroots reggae no dead... All those people who left yard for the States should get behind a movement to bring back the glory to Jamaica's unique export which no thoer country can copy without people saying, Jamaica! We need more youth like yourself to speak up, so the powers that be, in Jamaica start to take notice of the talent in Jamaica which equals potential in the world of reggae music. Big tings a gwaan. I'm going back next year again. and I can't wait!

+rich Mck Exactly, i can't really see jamaica without the old studios like channel one, studio one, joe gibbs, treasure isle, federal etc, i can't see it in the world because jamaica has so much talents, we changed the music in the world and we brought new music such as hip hop, dubstep, drum and bass etc. People don't realise how important jamaica really is in the world. Even chronix, tarrus riley and konshens, they are going back to the one drop. Dub isn't going to be the same without theose studios, the wicked, unique equipment in all of those studios are, lost, they are gone, to me that it just terrible, even those studio owners who have gone their separate ways, someone should of carried those studios on, especially the jamaican government.

Channel one, hitbound records, well charge, the best studio of the 70's and 80's with the greatest sound especially the drums, and the studio which helped king tubby's dub and scientist and prince jammy that is still standing but not in use, Jamaica listen i am a 14 year old kid who play's, write compose, make reggae Rocksteady and sometimes ska, dub and rub dub, rockers, one drop and steppers but u r leaving one of the greatest invention of music in Jamaica just rot on the corner of maxfield road, tuff gong studio, it was analog before then bob Marley's kids upgraded it to digital, channel one should do the same and all the other old studios so it can keep up with todays generation but not to let one of the greatest studio with one of the best upgraded, equipment like one of the best 16 track mixer and tape recorder just die in Jamaica, i would say that u probably won't get the 'channel one' sound in digital but u can still let this studio continue if i was in Jamaica with my family who lives and born their with my parents i would say 'rebuild this studio back into greatness.'

Yes. To briefly sum up your comment: Channel One is an institution intimately woven into the socio-cultural fabric of Jamaican society.....I would imagine how fans nostalgics and new fans would feel if the legendary Apple Studio at Abbey Road London was neglected or abolished.

I like their music as a non-native English speaker it would really be helpful if there are subtitles as they speak in patios/dialect and its very difficult to follow. Thanks.
