Great video. I was up there today. It was a great walk but I underestimated how muddy and boggy it would be. But a fantastic walk anyway. Thanks for posting.

Cheers Alan, You had a no bad day for it mate looked perfect for a walk up there. Aye there is a bit of a boggy patch, Even in the summer it still lingers. Thanks for watching, peter :)

Very secluded & stunning in those hills Peter, my kida place. That hike is a super fitness fix. The West Highland Way is calling buddy. Good job.

Cheers Kenny, Need to get out on the bike for a good while. Really felt at how unfit i was after this one. The hills are just to the north of Glasgow and you are right the views are stunning. Hope all is well mate, peter.

Great to have such stunners on your door step Peter and the views out towards Loch Lomond were very special mate. We've had a fair share of snow so far this winter and hopefully a bit more to come, another great outing pal :) Tim and Mandy

Oh man, this is a gorgeous film. It looks like you had the place to yourself that day. I notice, dear sir, that you probably walk a good several miles before you even start your official trek, and you certainly don't dawdle. Now I'm not quite catching it--how old are those cairns or markers? What incredible country--both in beauty and history. Jules
@MUNROSnCORBETTS
@MUNROSnCORBETTS 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jules :) The cairns could be hundreds of years old. The markers/trig points are maybe from the 1930's i think. I prefer the cairns myself. Sometimes i does not take long to begin the ascent, But my longest to date was about 7 miles i would say. Great to hear from you again, peter.

What a glorious day! I've walked to Earl's Seat twice - had intermittent views and biting winds the first time, and low cloud the last time. Great to see the views I missed! Another glorious day is forecast for tomorrow and I'm off to Beinn Bhuidhe!

@MUNROSnCORBETTS 7 жыл бұрын
I was in work this morning wishing i had the day off, Couldnt get much better! Beinn Bhuidhe is the only Arrochar Alp Munro i havent bagged. Keep on putting it off so i have a reason to go back there(Havent been there in ages now sadly) Maybe this year......Maybe no ha ha!

You need a lot of daylight - or take a bike, because it has a very long walk in and out (1.5 hours each way). We set off at 8am and didn't get back till just before sunset at 4.15pm! (Lots of dawdling, filming and breaks to admire the views.)

Was finally up there today, been up Dumgoyne couple of times but not Earls seat. Picked a right slippy frosty/snowy day for it, was a slidey nightmare at times but the views where amazing once the mist lifted, I definitely underestimated it though, was a fare slog (slide lol). Good vid as per 👍🏻 Dan.

Cheers Dan! Aye you get great views from up there, Lomondside, Arrochar Alps etc Ive no been up Dumgoyne right enough. Think it would make a nice overnighter in my tent. Was it busy up there today?

MUNROSnCORBETTS Dumgoyne is nice enough, nothing too bad, there’s another KZbin dude think his name is Andrew Park, he done an overnighter up there (was summer though) good vid that one. Aye Dumgoyne was busier than Earls, too many people sliding all over the shop and thinking better of it lol.

Living close to the Campsies I enjoyed that film - and know the problems with parking around the Distillery. Couldn't believe it at the start when I saw the impatient driver crossing the double-whites to overtake the bin lorry, on a blind bend! Cars often belt along that road. By the way, on a really clear day you can see Ailsa Craig from Earl's Seat, more or less in line with the fence.
@MUNROSnCORBETTS

Aye its a busy wee road alright some people are in a hell of a hurry! I saw Ailsa Craig from there last summer on a mega clear blue sky day it was stunning the 360 view was perfect just wish i had a camera with me. Cheers ma man, peter .

Ah, there he is again, and in his own backyard too! A lovely forested walk-in here Peter! Would love to have such a nice wee hill in my own backyard over here ... At 3:44 it would seem you filmed a little drama eh?
@MUNROSnCORBETTS
@MUNROSnCORBETTS 7 жыл бұрын
The drama was a lady who was gubbed only after 5 min walking LOL! She needed a wee pull up. You will see the big nice house in the forrest Wilco. I had a very interesting conversation with the owner, His knowledge was vast, And his family history could fill a book or two. Jacobites, Culloden and all the rest etc

Never heard of Gary's Hut Liam just checked the whole Campsie/Kilsyth hills map and cant see no mention of it. Although lots of very small huts are not usually named or listed on maps and exist via word of mouth etc. The nearest official bothies are some distance away Rowchoish Bothy on the West Highland Way at Loch Lomond and Mark Cottage over at Loch Long. I will keep digging an let you know mate, peter.
