One of the resons I like the new smoke stacks is that they require no maintenance, power, or people. Now that they're a single tile in size, factory layouts can be more compact too. As of today, the basic fuel distiller requires no power to run it, the devs did this so you're not completely screwed if you run out of power to supply your generators.

Ye Gods! It's Hoard Island! The lair of Aavak, the Red Dragon with the Golden Talons! It's an early settle, I see. The pipe spaghetti and conveyor tagiatelle traps haven't been laid out yet, so there isn't much loot to be had. I wonder how Aavak will set this base up with easier expansion possibilities all around the landing zone. Perhaps we can see an example of Aavak doing a ludicrously large factory now? Compared to the minimalistic setups from the alpha and beta series? In honor of the 1st video of the early access series of COI: OUR CAPTAIN GREAT! OUR AAVAK GREAT! OUR CAPTAIN GREAT!

I'm currently playing this map with max mountain and resource height... it's pretty painful. With these settings, resources tend to be above ground, but also all of the mountain and plateaus are higher, meaning a lot more work to access or mine from them. It also reduced the flat buildeable area even smaller

Funny that you mentioned both the waste that needs to be dumped and the retaining walls, I used them to create a walled dump to keep all the trash in one place, hoping that a solution to that problem arrives before I run out of space.

I love this game so far. I just have one thing I can say annoys the crap outta me, the laggy, glitchy belt/pipe attachment system. That feature really needs to be sorted out.

Aavak, if you get paid a visit by the Disney+ and/or Hulu people, I apologize, but they're annoyed that I'm not watching nearly enough stuff on there because you're now producing 3 hours' worth of videos a day. Finally got good internet so I can watch these in 1080 and can stream, and you've gone and dumped so many videos onto YT! Thanks for all you do, but the mouse may break your legs anyway. ;)

Aavak 1 thing you can think about. Refinery with minimum visible pipes ;) (Same like IRL, you can dig them under ground, but it needs a good planing)

Okay, gameplay-wise I get it, but from an in world lore perspective, I just have to ask: why is the town selling desal for coal _and_ buying desal for coal? Do you want it or not? Is our desal and coal somehow _better_ for you? Are you in the thralls of some sort of unfathomable addiction to the act of trading?

it makes sense to consider 'treats' a food group because i'd wager at least 80% of "treats" are probably such a high sugar content you shouldnt be grouping them in any other group that includes healthy food lol

I like how they removed the tech because when you put it in the game it's sort of a promise to have it released, but if you keep it out of the game while in development but release it later then they will be happy but if it's a dead end project for some reason, at least it isn't a failed promise, it's just part of the development phase with the game.
