Love your videos, pleasant to watch while I go through my chemo infusions and while I recopperate at home. Originally from Jersey City, now here in Los Angeles for the past fifty years. Miss NYC, there's no place like on earth. Keep up the good videos.

Good video, great work by FDNY. An apartment be remodeled can cause a lot of problems to deal with. A lot of people could have lost everything. Stay warm and well.

Another good catch, JJ! FYI- at 8:42, that looks more to be steam. It’s white and dissipates- a great sign. It’s pushing because of hydraulic ventilation.

Jay-Jay how do you have your scanners set-up in your car? Is it 3 or 4 scanners together? Did you do it yourself or had somebody do it for you? I like the way it appears to be set-up and would like to know if you have a video of it? I would like to see it in entirety. Thanks Jay-Jay! * Your the man! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great coverage John. Did the fire spread to several units ? Or was that one apartment ? Seems like many fires are on upper floors and must be tougher to fight.. Think you just answered my question. How much damage do the lower floors get from flooding ? Fire Department seemed to get fire under control pretty quickly.
@grahamsmith62106 ай бұрын
it's a fireproof building, it is likely one very large apartment (which is common in Manhattan high rises)

Honest question… how do they get the hoses up there?? Climbing stairs??? Do the hoses remain uncharged until they reach the floor?? Is there a water supply on the floors???
@JKwakulla6 ай бұрын
Someone else will give you a more technical answer to your question. But did you notice the hose running from the engine to the side of the fire building? That is the stand pipe, which supplies water to the fire apartment. When you see fireman with hoses on their shoulders, that is to connect to the stand pipe.
@thomasfreeman77706 ай бұрын
@@JKwakullaThat’s exactly how it is done. The only way you can get more technical about it is to discuss pressure and flow needed to make it all work. That is the responsibility of the engine chauffeur.

I wondered how they did it thank you for asking the question now I know

Doesn't this building have fireproof walls/ceilings? Even back then, every building higher than 6 stories had to be made of noncombustible materials. It seems like the fire was contained to one apartment.
@THEMAJESTIRIUM16 ай бұрын
YES BUT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN ALL THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL INSIDE AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS A VERY LARGE APARTMENT AT THAT AND THE FLOOR WAS THE LAST THING THEY WERE REMODELING.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
