Early Autumn Mood In The Greater Reykjavik Region in Iceland

This early autumn mood was shot early September 2024 when i finally got the sharp late summer light that i love to work with, but the best autumn colours are however a bit further away, The tour starts in Álftanes district but not all know that Reykjavik consists of 6 municipalities, each with it's own character. The later drone shots show you then the dynamic capital from different angles and I'm ending this tour by the Rauðhólar Pseudocraters but they deserve a separate video and it will be online soon as iv'e started to process some of the footage shot the last months. Frequent volcano updates have simply kept me from doing my usual nature and town moods for a while.

Wooo! 15 and a half days until I'm back in Iceland! Can't wait! 😁 I hope we're as lucky with the weather as we were last year, but given how dismal the summer has been here in Wales (more so than usual!), I may be disappointed in that regard! Aha, so you do get glorious weather in Iceland ... every now and then :-) The horse was obviously enjoying the interaction with the quadcopter! Horses (and cows from own observations) aren't very bothered by quadcopters.

The horse are usually easy but it's important to approach them carefully though :) the cows either love or hate drones :)

As I recall it from 50 years ago, Reykjavik is so clean they look as if it has just been scrubbed with a toothbrush, and the air is crystal clear to the far far horizon.

With a toothbrush? I hope the toothpaste didn't have too much fluorine in it. It's bad enough that certain volcanoes shower the landscape with fluorine-rich ash when the mood is upon them. But yes I'd agree Reykjavík is quite clean 🙂

My sister was stationed in Iceland for a time, when she was in the Navy (she was an "Airman"). I'll have to ask her if she ever went to visit the volcanoes. At the time she was there, in the early 80s, I didn't know Iceland was volcanic so didn't think to ask her.
