4 yrs late just watching this. I have all four of my original 1976 keys and they have Ford printed on them. Sorry if this is late and redundant. Thank you for the videos!!!

When I used to work in a hardware store as a young lad we used to make key duplicates and National Key was the brand and type we used. I really enjoy all your video's, I get a kick out of your sense of humor. I also can relate to you as to my mechanic skills and abilities, since mine are similar with you being a grade or two above me lol. This whole key thing is great since I also only got one key with my 66 Bronco which I got nearly two years ago. Due to yours and Matt's video's I'm now syched to get going with mine.I've seen most of your video's and now have some great advice as to proceed. Thanks, from Bill from Minnesota

+William Petsch awesome man! Get on it! I love that we're inspiring you to get to work on your Bronco. That's Matt and my hope is that we inspire people to work on their trucks.

John, have a question about your "2" spacers from Wild horses, that Matt was helping you with. Are you having to modify your gas lines from your gas tank? Right now my tank leaks, and fuel isn't getting to the carburetor. I'm thinking of getting the larger (23gal) fuel tank from TBP, but it requires a different tank then the standard tank. My 66 Bronco has that typical Bronco lean, I presume from bad or worn body mounts. So will also get some of those body mounts and replicate what you did. Thanks in advance Bill p.s. I notice that in a couple of your video's that you had a 5K shirt on. Are you a runner? I've ran nearly 100 marathons and been to Boston 7 times, twice which were with each of two of my three daughters that also run.

+William Petsch I cut my fuel lines because I plan to replace them. And yeah, I love to run but stick to half marathons. I would love to go to the Boston marathon one day.

Dude, thanks for this video. I was losing my mind and going about it the wrong way with the locking clip for the door lock. Images online were sending me down a different path. Anyways, thanks Jon! You saved me a lot of time and frustration.

Regarding the door lock. The plastic part you saved is available and it’s easier to install if you pull off the old one and snap the new one on after installing the lock cylinder.

I have the same key as you for my bronco, but it doesn't say Ford on the key, so our keys might not be original, but it could be too, since it's worn down.
@nickefgen92195 жыл бұрын
ya that's definitely a spare key that was made, the originals have a v shape design on them

My key is also loose. The guy I bought mine from could have handed me a screw driver and it would have started. The original ignition key I have says Ford on the top and the opening of the hole for key chain is sort of a V and has a V below it will horizontal lines behind it. It also says USA at the bottom. The other key I have does say Cole National too so maybe.

I'm not 100% positive but I think National key is a remake. My 68' and my '70 both had/have Ford on the key and it is silver in color. The shape of the key is identical though. As always, I enjoy the videos. 👍

Craig Davis Yeah mine says ford too it's a 76 and the key is silver as well.

Where is the tailgate lock on the ‘84 Bronco? Someone mentioned a lock rod, but where is this? I have no idea what I am doing.

Odd question: my locks do not stay "locked" when I close the door. Normal? Also, with my key, it doesn't seem to want to full lock (on any of my doors-I have a stretched 4 door Bronco). Thoughts?

With the new lock and ignition is it the same key or separate for each?
@NashvilleEarlyBronco5 жыл бұрын
Same key for both
@ronwilson92027 жыл бұрын
not ford key. it's great to make the doors lock and work with one key, and the key for the hard top. did you use a little lock tight on the screw on the door locks?
